Not working any more Mondays the last weeks in December

My boyfriend was looking forward to the last month of this year. They have some kind of arrangement here in Hungary, that you get extra holidays if you have children. But the system of the company failed to add them during the past year. So they agreed that he could take those 3 extra days holiday in December so this would not be another problem next year as the days for 2017 were also gone because they didn't process it in 2017. So he planned those 3 days on Mondays (the last 3) in December. Short weeks of work, and with his new job as a trainer he knew this December month would be way more relaxed than the one in 2017.

Yesterday it had been snowing all day

So I didn't leave the house at all, only my boyfriend and daughter went to the supermarket at the end of the day, and for the rest we had pyjama days this weekend. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned last night. My boyfriend has a long history with stomach problems that started when a doctor prescribed him a medicine in his teen years. He told him to take them before he went to sleep, so he did for years. Turned out that there was a specific warning on the medication that this should NOT be taken before going to sleep. And so the problems with his stomach began and even before we were a couple and met many years ago, I remember him having troubles and eating Rennie's all the time to get rid of the burning pains.

A few months ago the symptoms increased

So he went to his doctor and got a few examinations, but nothing special was found. And then it happened, last night he started to get pain again, which he first tried to get rid of getting a pantoprazol. Didn't work this time, and things got worse and worse. We thought he had trouble with his gallbladder again when he also started to feel sick. After many hours of pain and not being able to do anything else but sit straight up, to have less pain than lying in bed, he started vomiting. And when this happens with him, he starts throwing it out like there's some kind of high-pressure machine behind it. I'm used to it by now (it's a shame but it's the truth) to hear him getting so sick and constantly going to the toilet to throw out whatever is bothering him this time. Because to be honest, there are days that he can barely eat anything as it will all give him stomach burns and pain. It's getting ridiculous and mostly very unpleasant for him. I feel for him when it happens again.

After a few throw up sessions he notified me that he was throwing up blood

And not just a little bit of blood like the vomiting just damaged a vessel, but a lot of blood, and even black later on. As soon as he told me this I freaked out (inside) because one thing I do remember reading is, when you throw up blood, you should see a doctor because it can be something bad and serious. He isn't to keen on visiting a doctor, especially not now as he has been having a killer tooth that he had seen a dentist for 6 times already, and other physical problems in the past months. So he's had his share of doctor visits, which I totally understand. But I was really happy that he asked me to find out what hospital he had to go to when it wouldn't stop soon. I was afraid that he'd refuse and I'd probably be worried sick all night if he'd be ok.

This system here is so confusing if you need to visit a hospital for emergency

I had this experience last year when I had a severe ear infection and got send away at 4 hospitals before (after 1,5 week agonizing pain) I was sent to the right one because the wife of my bf's boss (who's Hungarian) explained they work in shifts with emergency doctors. Sometimes you go to hospital A during a time block, and the next day it can be in hospital B. I thought that I would be able to find this info online, but I didn't and I had the feeling the clock was ticking so I told him to go to one near (where I know for sure they have an emergency department) and if it would be the wrong one, they'd just have to tell him where to go. And this happened, he ordered a taxi as he was feeling a bit dizzy also after throwing up all that blood, so I'm glad he took a taxi. I stayed home with the little one because we would only be a burden probably during examination and I hoped that she'd go to sleep early too.

He was seen by a doctor very quickly

Which is nice, because I know sometimes this can take hours, and when you're feeling as bad as he did and have that amount of pain, it just sucks sitting in a very uncomfy waiting room. Soon I received a picture of him (poor guy) with a tube from his nose to his stomach filled with blood. So there was still a lot of blood coming out. I asked him (carefully) if it was really that bad as it always looks (getting a tube through your nose or throat) and he said it was, he threw up on the people bringing in the tube and his clothes were a mess now too. He'd get a scan soon and then I received another picture that he'd have to stay the night. He didn't know any results yet, or if he'd have to go into surgery or something. I asked him to write down my number because he didn't take his charger with him. And to send a message with the info where he's staying as soon as he knew this. He told me ok.. and now we're 3 hours passed the last message. To be honest, I'm worried sick. I hope (and probably he is) that he just fell asleep because it took such a toll on his body all night and day. But int he back of my mind I wonder if they aren't performing any surgery.

I hoped to hear something (results, plan what they'll do and if I need to bring clothes tomorrow and when) before I would go to sleep, but it seems like this is not going to happen anymore... I will not put flight mode on tonight just in case if anything happens... And hope for the best for him for tomorrow. Going to bed now, it has been a long day!
