Who told you Steemit isn't beneficial? Let me tell you where steemit took me to.. I've been on this platform for 3 good years and I've been so passionate about photography because of the contents I create on a daily basis. In as much as this is important, steemit taught me how to be intentional and creative when maximizing pictures for content writing.

I had a flair for photography and decided to purchase a good device for this purpose. Guided by some photographers, I tend to change the normal routing system where people solely depend on physical cameras for shoots and they end up spending much on a photo. **Using my Redmi device has made others appreciate the pictures I take and wish to do photo sessions with me. So what am I saying?

I had my First Inter-state wedding coverage. It was at Calabar of course, a city in my country, Nigeria. It was purely business and pleasure. I'll give you the narratives. It was a wedding occasion which I was called upon with my team to cover. Though there were lots of disappointment, the trip was one in a million. So Steemit took me out of my state because of the skill I learnt from it

These are the pre-wedding photos where the use of a natural background was imminent. I captured these right here in my state before heading for Calabar. Ohkay. Let me tell you my preparations to go there and disappointments faced which tended to be a blessing somehow.

Preparing to leave Uyo for Calabar

It was a Thursday morning and plans were already made to transport my team and I to Calabar but unfortunately, we couldn't make it that due to the celebrant telling us he couldn't get the private vehicle he wanted us to use. So we postponed the movement till the next day. I was just so disappointed because my mine already left Uyo that Thursday.

Regardless, it wasn't my wedding. On Friday which was the next day, I was busy preparing gifts to give Steemians during the meetup which I wasn't sure of attending due to the business proposal I had. I was later called upon to come to a junction which happened to be the takeoff point to Calabar. I hurried home and arranged myself and my bags to take off. My friends waited for me to arrive as I knew the junction better.

I wore my blue striped vintage shirt and short and paraded on a vehicle to meet my clients. There was a private arrangement for transportation which we entered with our loads and left Uyo for good. Before leaving, I took pictures that would serve as memories for future purposes. I was so much excited I would be changing environment.

On the Road

Entering the road was pleasurable as I kept my eyes open to see places. My camera was set to capture places and scenes. While on the Sienna, I took out my food pouch to eat as I didn't eat that morning due to impromptu meetings and calls. Calabar road is nothing to write home about. It's so dusty and bad that you won't feel so comfortable travelling on road. We just had to manage. On our way to a LGA before Crossriver, our vehicle broke down.

The tyre of the vehicle burst and the driver has no spare tyre to complement the one that burst. Almost everyone got on the driver's heel for not carrying spare tyre. They were so pissed off as we were already late. Journey from Uyo to Calabar is barely 4 hours and this is happening at exactly 2pm. What time would the driver get a spare tyre in such a remote area for us to leave in time?.

Anyways, I wasn't really bothered because it was an opportunity to explore that village were we got delayed in. My team and I took to checking the nearest joint to explore their meat and drinks. **It was a memorable experience as I ate Dog meat and drank Palm wine. We had two rounds of this delicacy while waiting for the driver to return with a new tyre. It was as if he should not return let's enjoy the moment.

While still waiting, a friend who was part of the travel purchased goat meat peppersoup and white rice for us to eat. I ate as if I've not eaten for days. Another round of snacks came in. This time, the celebrants bought us some snacks and drinks to step down what we ate. I no time, the driver came with a new tyre. We left our comfort zone at the moment to enter the Sienna. We were on the move again. I took pictures of places around while on the vehicle.

The checkpoints we passed was uncountable and the driver kept his light change to settle these guys. It was a funny experience with them though. In no time, we crossed a river that divided Akwa Ibom State and Crossriver. We were in Crossriver by 6pm. I was expected to arrive Calabar at night. Our journey was amplified by the songs the driver played in his sound system. We all joined voices and tuned to the songs we knew how to sing well while on the straight road journey to Calabar.

These are videos showing how we enjoyed the evening ride till we go to Calabar at night. It's funny that most places in Calabar don't have Street light. This made me feel I'm Uyo is far more better than Calabar which is in the heart of the country's promised Land. When we finally got to our destination tired, we met lot of women cooking to welcome us from the long journey. I had no choice but to video what they were doing.

In no time, we took our bath, freshened up and then got served yam porridge. I'd say it was one of the best nights I had in a while. I slept in the comfort of Calabar till the next day when I covered the event. Was one I a million journey. I thank God for safe arrival. Ready to read my next post on how I covered the event? Monday morning talking about me while I'm writing this post......
