"Merged mining" Devcoin (DVC), STEEM and SBD

in #witness-category7 years ago

Hello steemians!

I'm a new witness project created by @develCuy with the purpose of integrating Devcoin and STEEM blockchains. Both worlds are different but share similar purposes: Rewarding creators. While STEEM is focused on content creators, Devcoin aims to support creators of digital assets, artist and developers. Actually, Devcoin has the Devtome website, which could be considered an very alpha version of steemit.com!

What is the purpose of @devcoin?

This project will experiment different approaches of integration, but to keep things simple, the basic idea is to allow Devcoin users to earn some STEEM and SBD, and the reverse. This is a community project for both communities so a witness role makes sense for @develCuy to create a new one.

How about the infrastructure?

For those worrying about what value is this witness adding to STEEM blockchain, there you have it:

Seed node:

  • 32 GB of RAM
  • 90 GB SSD main HD
  • 90 GB HDD for backups

Witness node:

  • 32 GB of RAM
  • 90 GB SSD main HD
  • 90 GB HDD for backups

Plans for the future

I'm looking to implement DVC (short for Devcoin) as an SMT, but there is no ETA for it, in the mean time some custom plugin or external app should make the trick. After all, this is a beta project and errors are expected along the way. You are warned!

Hey @develcuy, I made a test post with the #devcoin but it seems it didn't work for some reason. I upvoted this post manually.

Thanks for reporting! Post upvoted! But from now on please publish real articles, steemit is about publishing quality content ;)

Alright @develcuy! I'm gonna do that. Cheers!

Do you still visit Planeshift, @cpol? One idea would be to make an intro to the game. It would be interesting to gamers as they are probably not aware of the site and may bring in some new users for Talad. You could add a lot of screen shots for interesting filler as well. You could even tell some of the RPG tales which you could paraphrase from the forum. ;)

Hahaha, yeah well, it's been a long time not going in there. The main problem was that the game had increased in specs and I don't know if I can currently run it in my computer. I remember it became awfuly difficult to run it normally. I'm gonna give it a try one of these days again and ponder about it. Thanks for the suggestion @novacadian!

It looks like everything worked they way you intended it to on my post!
