NEW STARTsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #health6 years ago

I got a health diagnosis recently that had me thinking more seriously about my health. I had to face facts and sit up and get more deliberate about my living habits. We tend to take our health for granted and we just live life anyway it comes. We forget that the only thing that grows without effort is weed. We forget that vitality or the lack of it is a result of our investment towards our lives.

There is a noticeable rise in the number of sick people. I’m not talking about little illnesses like the flu or a headache, I’m talking about illnesses which have huge impacts on the mind and the pockets. I’m talking about illnesses that don’t leave the sufferer the same even if they get well. So I wonder what the problem could be, why is there an increase in health failure? Why are more people getting seriously ill, especially the young?

The pollution in the world is increasing by the second and while we advocate for a greener environment, we need to protect ourselves from the health implications of the pollution. We have to prepare for the worst while we pray and work towards the best. The more earth gets polluted, the greater the illnesses flying around.
How do we reduce the possibility of us getting sick?

We need NEW START.

N

Nutrition. From the beginning of time, it is known that we are what we eat. Unlike the squirrel who discovered that he is nuts, humans fortify their bodies by eat more plant based meals that animal based meals. They also increase the power of the immune system by eating more fresh plant products that the processed foods. Fruits, vegetables and nuts are the foods which help fight the free radicals which increases in the body due to the pollution around us. These free radicals cause more sicknesses that we know, by increasing our susceptibility and decreasing the strength of the immune system. You are what you eat. Most illnesses are a result of what goes into our mouths. Try it for a month and see the difference.

Exercise. The body needs to be trained for optimal health. The muscles need to be constantly prepared to do their jobs. A lack of exercise leads to lazy muscles, accumulation of unnecessary calories, sugar and fat which all have negative effects. Aerobics helps maintain a healthy heart and prepares the body for the everyday stress and strain we go through, so little exertions don’t cause avoidable damage or injuries. Exercise also activates the feel-good mood and keeps you confidence. For optimal health you have to consistently exercise.

Water. Water is the best thing which happened to creation. I need not remind you that at least 60% of the human body is run on water. To think that some people go through days with taking pure clear water is disturbing. They’d rather settle for drinks which though contain some amount of water, cannot replace or give the advantages water gives. Drink water as much as possible, except during meals or immediately after meals. Always carry a water bottle filled with water with you. Water helps in clarity of mind, give clear skin, helps in breathing and hydrates and oils the body. Go drink some water.

Sunshine. This source of Vitamin D and the symbol of cheerfulness is important to mankind’s overall health. It is the source of energy the plants use, and its rays also promotes the feel-good mood. Let it some sunshine into the home. Avoid gloomy atmosphere and let the sunshine in. Shift aside the curtains which hide the sun away, and watch the bright rays chase away gloominess. Avoid the scorching sun rays, but give place to sunshine in your life.
