She was a little too late
I felt as if the trees were singing a song slowly—a soft but not sad song, a restless but not agitated song. I saw the birds circling in silent flight on the horizon of the blue sky, dim with light and also looked beautiful.
I saw that the heat, restlessness, and fatigue due to burning during the last days' summer heat was rising from the mountains like steam and covering the atmosphere, to which the mountain children, the pines, had extended their arms towards the sky.
Today, after reading the keyword 'too late', I suddenly remembered Aryan and Sima, my high school friends. We were close and always played, studied, and spent time together.
As time passed and we reached college, Sima got attracted to Aryan, but Aryan was unaware and did not understand Sima's feelings. He always thought that Sima was just his good friend. I know he was good as a friend and used to laugh with and joke with us, but he took everything lightly. He never took her seriously.
But Sima had something else in her heart and mind for Aryan. She liked him to the extent of love but was hesitant to express her feelings. Probably I knew about her feelings for Aryan, but Aryan never looked at her that way.
I could feel Sima giving hints to Aryan at different meetings, as she would make special dishes for him or give him hints, but Aryan thought them a normal act of friendship. He never took Sima's feelings seriously. But I always felt that Sima had something else in her heart for Aryan.
One day, Sima decided to express her feelings, so she mustered up her courage and invited Aryan to our favorite restaurant, where we spent time together. She wanted to speak out about her feelings that day. But when Aryan reached there, he was with his new girlfriend.
Sima did not say a word, as she was heartbroken. She smiled, offered them coffee, and left the restaurant without saying a single word about why she had called Aryan there.
Aryan felt that Sima was sad, but he thought that maybe she was upset for some personal reason. After that day, Sima made a distance from Aryan. Aryan felt that something was not right. He felt that something was missing in Sima's life without him.
Aryan also talked to me, and slowly he understood Sima's feelings for him. He understood his mistake and thought it was time he went to Sima and expressed his feelings.
One day Aryan called Sima and fixed a time to meet her. When they met, Aryan spoke out his heart. "It took me too long to understand you. I know I ignored your signals, but now I have realized how special you are to me."
Sima smiled and said, "I also tried to explain to you, but now I am happy that you understood my feelings, but you are too late now."
Aryan asked, "What has changed now?"
Sima told Aryan that the day she saw Aryan with his new friend, she had given her consent to the boy chosen by her parents, and now they were getting engaged.
Well, Aryan and Sima are still friends, but they have changed their friendship into a new relationship. They learned that sometimes we have to be a little too attentive to understand the feelings of people around us.
It is very important to understand love and friendship on time. It's fine even if we understand late, sometimes it works fine but not always.
This is an old story, but when I read today's keyword, "too late," I suddenly remembered this story. I feel if we don't understand what our near and dear ones want from us, it goes out of our hands.
I know that Sima loved Aryan from the bottom of her heart, but she too was hesitant to express it, and she was a little late. Her story shows that sometimes it takes time to understand the feelings of people around us.
Today I think that if Aryan had understood Seema's feelings, then maybe their friendship could have turned into a new relationship. But by the time both of them understood the truth, it was too late.

You are so talented to be able to write like this. It could be a movie or a novel. Amazing insight into the depths of human relationships.

Seema could have voiced out her feelings too. But it is what it is.
An interesting piece.
