Powerup Statistics #19 - August 17th - August 31th
Every two weeks or so I like to compare the current power-up statistics and see how we stand.
Here they are:

Bam! We are above 200 million vested STEEM again! It's been a while.
This is happening even though big accounts are still powering down.
Inflation is also back to normal now that SBD conversion has mostly stopped. (fail safe kicked in @ 21 cents)
In the last two weeks, we saw an increase in powerups of 0,8 million STEEM.
It's been going up slowly for 8 weeks now. I consider that a very positive sign.
STEEM price has not bottomed as I expected here.
I've waited a few days for the price to come down and are now adding more STEEM to my account.
Nothing beats buying STEEM straight up if you ever wanted a little more. It's just the way it is with current markets.
When this is no longer the case, and STEEM is too expensive to buy, this blockchain is going to fly like you never seen before.
Do you think there is competition now? O man...you have no idea. And with #newsteem around this time, you better bring your A-game.
From previous experiences with STEEM, I expect a real signal for a potential reversal to be a fairly violent up move over several days. It's going blatantly clear when it happens I expect.
Can be today, can be years from now. I don't know. All I know when STEEM goes up above a certain price level what I have is what I have.

well the supply is somethign to worry about i guess may be but steem didn't found that bottom still seems like a big way to go down
I’m keen to see how vests change over the coming weeks now that more rewards are returned as SO through curation and how it keeps up with those who power down!
I see quite a few big accounts powering down still! Good news for me, hope tomorrow’s SPUD will be my final one as a minnow

With this newsteem I'm really considering getting more SP, after seeing for the last couple of days how the downvote system is working and being used, seeing all the devs(which I won't name because I would miss some) so focused on the blockchain and how the tribes are evolving, I'm finally, after 1 whole year and a few months on STEEM, starting to see a good future for this blockchain that deserves some investment...
I really look forward to that day! It will be really awesome. I have some STEEM that I have been saving up for a power up day. I am pretty excited to add it to my account all at once.
