Network Issues

01:06 PM: It takes 13 seconds to connect to Comcast, my internet service provider (ISP), via WIFI, in our house here in Shelton, WA, USA. Usually, it can take ten to twenty seconds to connect. When I turn my computer off, I mean to sleep, I mean hibernate, to turn off the screen, to minimize computer power consumption, and then when I go turn it back on, it can struggle to reconnect to WIFI. Sometimes, no problem, it reconnects, the WIFI turns back on. Other times, it doesn't. So, for months, once a day or once a week, I end up resetting the network manager on my computer, my laptop, and I unplug my WIFI device and wait twenty seconds and then plug it back in. I unplug it from one port and wait 20 sec and then plug it into another port and wait and then plug it back in the original USB slot or port to get it back. I experiment to see what I have to do. I usually end up updating my Ubuntu Mate 16.04 operating system (OS) to help fix the issues. I end up doing several different combinations of all of these things to get the WIFI back at times. I end up restarting things and unplugging things a few times, and waiting in between all of the different tasks, procedures, steps, and I keep at it, doing all of those things, back and forth, until it finally works. Sometimes, I would just restart my computer to see if that would work.

Garden Work

01:30 PM - 04:30 PM: Unloaded the manure today for the garden, like we did around this time last year. Levelled the ground in the backyard, to fill in the power trench from the big garage to the bookshed. The clothesline was put up and clothes were dried on it today, the first of this year. Checked on my snow hill. The unloading of the manure came from out of the trailer which I didn't move. Swept it out. Pretty hard work. Been thinking about my future and my priorities today as I usually do. Took, a shower, and then a nap. Had some meatloaf around 07:45 PM.

Fake References

07:47 PM: On My Facebook - I wrote: "I applied to work at some summer camps but gave them fake references." I worked at camps for 6 years. People know me. I may have had references but some of them may not want to continue. In the past, some have claimed not to have known me well enough for that. That argument could be renewed now. I could try really hard to find some references. But like I said, camp people know me and they shoud be able to decide whether or not want me without that.

Shut Up & Dance

11:53 PM - 12:45 AM - Watching - Black Mirror 303: Shut Up & Dance: malware infected a boy's laptop. The people behind the virus records him jerking off or sending dick pics via his webcam via remote access which Apple, Microsoft, Android, and desktop notification enables, generally. Big tech, governments, China, and others do this. They text the boy and blackmail him. They say he must do what they say or they'll send the video of him and his free willy hanging out to his family and friends, their email addresses. So, he is sent to pick up a cake. He drops it off at a man's house. They get him. They rob a bank. The boy is forced to murder a man. A helicopter drone records. In the end, they ruin all of their lives. The boy's video is shared and police take him to jail. I say, if they try to compromise and blackmail you, like with a video like that, just say, "Yeah, I did porn, folks, deal with it." Maybe confess and say you changed. But it's not as bad as murder. You need to confess as opposed to murder, bank robbery, theft, etc. Cover up your webcam like Mark Zuckerberg does.
