TREE TUESDAY - TREES SAVED
Hello everybody,
Last monday's soil test investigation for a proposed 4 storey commercial building in Marigondon of a Korean construction firm was an opportunity for me to capture trees, very timely for tree tuesday hosted by @old-guy-photos.
We arrived at the project site about 8:00 am. It is in a corner lot adjacent to the famous Suba Basbas street leading to one of the famous beach resort here in our area but because there are tall buildings and residential subdivisions you can't see directly the seashore.
Our service was parked under an old old spanish plum tree, which I appreciate much its unique branches form. It had also young fruits on the upper part. One of our soil test crew or driller climbed up to check if some fruits were tender but found out all were small and still not ripe.
The construction firm started already digging the foundation of their building showing the original soil which is mostly limestones and sandy clay.
What amazed as all was the huge "Nipa Tree" at the corner of the temporary wooden gate they made. We just guessed maybe the tree was almost 100 years old or more. It's branches was in stair form beautifully with a sturdy torn like a sharp saw.
I haven't snapped the neighbors tree the palm tree, bamboo tree, "native tambis" with many fruits, "santol tree", cotton tree, etc...I do not know the names of other trees that surrounds the property.
When I asked the foreman of the construction firm will they cut the trees, I was thankful with his positive reply..."No, the trees shall remain, it will be included on their landscaping."
Happy much me, the TREES are saved!

The palm tree on your last image is called Washingtonia, I think it has various varieties .. it is a kind of palm tree similar to a fan shape palm. I have one in our spanish property and it grows so slowly.
