Life Cut Short

Hush now my Love,
we're coming to an end;
Hold my hand,
squeeze it tight,
We shouldn't fear,
together we will be alright.


The wind whispers the ode to death,
as we both lie on this lonely street;
Under the sky that speaks of hope,
here we are with blood-drenched clothes;
With our broken bones, and bruised soul,
life made sure we will never be whole.


You reached for my hand,
even though your in great pain;
Tears run down your face,
when you said, "See you again."
And then you smile—the sweetest smile,
that made may last minutes worthwhile.


The leaves from that old oak tree,
starts to fall slowly above me;
I can hear voices that are so familiar,
Something soothing but very peculiar;
I might need to close my right eyes now,
The sound of sirens was my last link, Ciao.


My Love, you don't have to wait too long,
any minute now, I'll be home.
