Community of @steemchurch, I say "Happy International Worker's Day", God's thoughts on work and wealth are recorded in many verses of the Bible.

Work can be defined as all activities due to the physical and intellectual effort of man, necessary for the production of goods and services. As a factor of production and transformation, it is a divine blessing that can generate wealth for the prosperity and well-being of man. So wealth is not mana. It is rather the result of a set of efforts (physical and intellectual), deprivations and sacrifices aimed at a predefined goal.

When you build and live in beautiful homes [...] when you multiply your fat and small cattle, increase your money and your gold, take care that your heart does not swell and that you forget the Lord your God. (Deut 8, 12-13)

In Genesis 2:15, God gave a double mission to man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and maintain the garden. To cultivate the garden means to work it, with the idea of transforming it, improving it, enriching it and enriching it, in other words, to generate added value; To maintain the garden means to watch over it, to protect it.

Through the parable of the talents (Mat 25: 14-30), Jesus reveals to us the thought of God about the goods and talents that he entrusts to us.

There is for money a mine from which it is taken, and for gold a place from which it is extracted to refine it; The iron comes out of the dust and the stone melts to produce brass [...]. The man takes his hand on the rock, knocks down the mountains from the root; he opens trenches in the rocks, and his eye contemplates all that is precious; it stops the flow of water and produces in the light what is hidden. (Job 28.1, 2, 9-11)

God wants man to be an entrepreneur, a builder of beautiful houses that will later live; Worker, able to find money in the mines and extract gold in several places for their welfare. God did not pretend that man lived in slums or mediocrity. On the contrary, because of work, he has destined him to experience his grace, his prosperity through the laws of multiplication and increase. God refuses, to avoid that man falls into laziness, that riches fall to him like manna. It is probably for this reason that he has knocked down the manna and the quail only once, the crossing of the desert by the people of Israel, and that he has forbidden the man who is tent (Ex 16:19).

Man is called to value any good or talent received from God, of which he is only an administrator.

Work is a source of enrichment, economic growth, in short, development.

When the care of a property is entrusted to someone, it means a mark of trust between the principal and the agent. Work thus marks God's trust in man.

Contrary to some fatalistic and pessimistic vision, work, despite its laborious nature, is not a punishment inflicted on the human race, after the disobedience of Adam and Eve. In addition, in this regard, it should be noted that, chronologically, the concept of "work" precedes the fall (Gen 3). On the contrary, it is a blessing, a source of enrichment, personal pride and satisfaction. Also, glorify God who has given this favor to man.

Many Christians today do not like to work and do not understand the spiritual scope of work, while:

  • The work nourishes (2 Thessalonians 3.10b).
  • The work enriches (Gen 31.6,7,9).
  • The work ennobles (2 Thess 3,8a).
  • The work releases (2 Thess 3,8b).
  • The work flourishes (Deut 8: 12-13).
  • The work glorifies God (2 Thessalonians 3.12).
  • Work is a mark of man's obedience to God (Gen. 1:28).

There is no doubt that work continues to be an important channel of blessing through which God gives riches to his children.

For that reason, today that starts the month of May, I invite you to work hard in the Steemchurch registry in Expansión a Telos:
