The silent noise

in #choice6 years ago

The times that we live in are unique. Energy speeds up and changes happen rapidly in all areas of our lives. We walk, run, talk, think, eat, smile, shout, exercise – and many other physical acts – at a very quick pace. Life is moving around us in swirling motion. New sensual stimuli flood our perceptions every moment and demand that we give them our attention – reject or accept. Such times demand therefore a careful and sharp decision-making mechanism.

Making decisions in a chaotic world

Make your eye single – indeed, this proverb is truer today than it was 2000 years ago when it was coined. The focus of mind and thought are very crucial. First, focus your mind in the spacious now present. To be here and now and to return your awareness each time it has drifted away to the past or to the future. Second, a knifelike mental ability to discern what you welcome into your life and what you don’t. For that, you must know exactly what your choices are and be bold to resist the illusionary temptations that our world brings on your way to manifesting those choices.

Those temptations are all around us and seem to be merely an integral part of the mundane reality that surrounds us. But no. These temptations are subjective psychological patterns that were manifested by you as physical symbols of your doubts, or your confusion, or your not-yet assimilated aspects. If you give them your attention they will become real and then demand your care and dealing. Those temptations, however, are background noise, quiet and easily overlooked, that in many cases cover the reality of framework 2 (and definitely frameworks 3 and 4), the source for the physical reality.

An example

Let’s take the relationship issue as an example. As many of my readers, you have made your choice to manifest a genuine kind of relationship, someone to love and be loved by; someone who is the most authentic representation of the essence of your true self. A lofty goal indeed, one that you also know is attainable for you.

You then use any of your techniques to create your reality. Then you wait. You wait for your choice to manifest. (Incidentally, the best technique to create a reality is really a non-technique, merely the awareness of your selves and the moment).

Then next things that happen are the drizzles of experience that begin pouring into your immediate reality. At first, those shreds are very subtle, and that fact itself might cause the confusion:

You might meet someone, whom you will like, be attracted to, desire to spend time with. It's clear to you that they are not your true love, but why not have some joyeous experience before your eternal love shows up?

Or, you will meet someone, an indeed nice person. They will like you and want to be with you. You for one will feel good in their company. But something will be missing. They will almost be the right person; they will almost have everything you desire in a spouse, you will almost be in love with them. Everything will be perfect. Almost.

And these are the background noises – manifestations that are clearly not what you have chosen but tempting enough to convince you to follow them. It's perfectly ok to do so, if you so choose, as long as you keep your eyes focused on the target - your realization. Else, you will lose yourself and will waste a lot of your resources to go back on track.

One of the reasons, perhaps the biggest one, why people's choices are not manifested the way they want, is the silent noise distracter. We compromise about what we want and settle for a lesser version, convincing ourselves that what we were able to manifest is good enough. Thus, we agree to have a "just enough" kind of living.

The solution is to remain alert and aware. Make your eye single. Concentrate on the things you choose and release those that are not in accordance with your bigger choices no matter how tempting they seem to be to you. No judgments is needed, just a gentle and kind release.
