Wednesday – I spy with my little eye – Mini contest (22)

Hello kids and parents!

I am back with another week of "I spy with my little eye".

Before I get to this week's contest first allow me to say thank you for allowing me to take a break last week and for all your messages. I've also missed you!

As usual, before we get to our game let's take a look at the clues of last week.

1. It is a 10-letter word that started with the letter "J"

JOURNALIST!

Nope, the word is not journalist.
I just knew I was going to get you with this one.

And the word is ... JAYWALKERS!

I can hear you, "What on earth are jaywalkers?"

Believe it or not, we are all very familiar with them.

They are those pedestrians who don't obey the rules and cross the road right in front of our vehicles and not at a designated crossing point.

By doing this they not only put us in danger but also themselves.

1905 - The name "jay drivers" where given to drivers who were not driving on the right side of the street

1909 - "The jay walker needs attention as well as the jay driver, and is about as big a nuisance" as published in a newspaper and from which the word "jaywalker" originated.

In many countries it is illegal to do jaywalking, fines are given, and even jail time for repeat offenders. Jaywalking is more common in cities where there is a lag of legal crossings and poor regulations.

Next time when you want to cross that road at the wrong place, think twice if you want to be labeled as a jaywalker.

The game is exactly like last week;

The game “I spy with my little eye” is sort of a detective game. The “spy” is the person who sees something and the rest of the players must then guess what the spy is seeing.

Of importance, it must be something that you can see and not something you can feel like an emotion.

BUT, “I spy with my little eye” is so much more than just a spy game;

• It is a thinking game
• It teaches you how to use your logic and reasoning and
• It grows your vocabulary

The contest

For today I am going to give you the letter with which the word starts plus 4 points or “clues” which you can take into consideration to figure out what the word can be.
