My fellow Steemians

Not only is it the winter school holiday in South Africa, but it was also Father’s Day on Sunday and Youth Day yesterday. To crown it, hubby decided that he is taking a week off this week. I wonder… see, there I go again with the “I wonder.”
Well, I do wonder how many cups of coffee I have made these last few days and how many I am still going to make in the days to follow.

Steem For Ladies

It was again a week without any problems to report on.

My duties:

1. Curation and verification of posts on my day of duty as well as filling in on the days of others
2. Educating and monitoring 6 moderators
3. Validating MOD verifications
4. Verifying new members
5. Booming posts submissions and community voting
6. Taking care of community notifications and comments
7. Writing of 2 community posts
8. Monitoring and running of community contests
9. Lending a helping hand to members of the community
10. Approval of moderator contests

General

A helping hand was lent to six Steemians on WhatsApp and various others via the platform.

Two Steemians were helped via the invite-only server on Discord.

▸Africa:

Supporting and helping my fellow Steemians from Africa is still a priority for me. Hopefully, @ngoenyi and I will be able to launch our project to assist the Steemians of Africa in improving their posts in the coming week.

▸Curator assistance

Assistance was given to one curator.

Issues encountered:

There is one issue I want to mention, and that is the numerous posts I have seen about the quality of the posts.

There is a success story behind Steemit, and that is the people.

Let’s never forget that we cannot all be good authors; not all of us have the ability to write excellent posts, and not all of us have a laptop that makes writing and checking so much easier. I often say I take my hat off to those who work from their mobile phones, and this includes curators. I won’t be able to do it.

And let’s not forget that for some, it is a form of saving, and for others, it puts food on the table.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want Steemit to be a Rolls Royce that is only driven by a handful.

What I do strongly agree with is that we must all assist our fellow Steemians to improve the quality of their posts. Let’s help each other!

Lastly, after two weeks of curating under the new “free to vote on any type of post as long as they are not plagiarized or created by AI," I have to admit that I still find it difficult to vote for Steemians who are not following club status, etc.
