1. Today is Steem Power Up Day - SPUD
Steem Power Up Day, initiated by @streetstyle, has been getting a lot of support from the community with many powering up extra STEEM.
As well as @streetstyle, many steemians have written about their power-ups including @krnel, @acidyo, @steevc and @slobberchops...
Number masher @abh12345 is providing some spud-u-like stats to see how the chips fall with this initiative...

DO featuring @theycallmedan's Steem Tank - Thursday 2 May 8pm UTC, MSP Waves
DO this week will be hosting the pilot of @theycallmedan's new 'Steem Tank'.
Steem Tank will be a Shark Tank style show where steemians pitch their projects to a panel of business experts with a view to getting support and potential investment. Steem investor @theycallmedan will be joined on the panel by crypto business expert @nicholaslive and witness developer @themarkymark. The show will be hosted by @pennsif.
Steemians presenting their projects include @bembelmaniac, @clixmoney, @diggndeeper.com, @improv, @jongolson, @krnel and @thecryptodrive.
2. FreedomEx launches Steem Fiat Gateway
Steem's Smart Media Exchange @freedomex has launched its Fiat Gateway.
FreedomEx is now providing a facility through Netcoins to directly buy STEEM with USD, CAD or EUR.
By clicking our new BUY STEEM button on our site, we are able to offer the following currency pairs: STEEM/USD, STEEM/CAD and STEEM/EUR though our partner Netcoins. The process required will involve creating a Netcoins account and going through a KYC process including a selfie, an address and an ID verification. After the process is complete you will then be able to link your bank and initiate a transfer into STEEM at any time!
3. Steemit incorporates Community Contributions
Steemit Inc, led by @roadscape, have made some changes to the steemit.com web interface based on requests, suggestions and pull requests from community developers.
Among the most significant additions is the ability to embed D.tube videos directly. The original pull request for this came from @tibfox.
A number of other community pull requests have also been integrated into steemit.com including those from @blockchainstudio, @smittyvb and @timcliff,
Steemit Inc are also seeking community opinion on whether "flags" should be replaced with "downvotes" on steemit.com...
4. SteemLogin provides easy login
A new easy login system for the Steem blockchain has been developed by @irelandscape.
SteemLogin provides for direct login using mainstream authentication providers such as Google and Facebook.
By adopting SteemLogin, Steem app developers can enable their users to sign in using their Google, Facebook, Twitter or GitHub account.
5. Space battles start on 8 June
Steem space strategy game NextColony has announced the start of battles on 8 June.
6. Splinterlands hosts second Game Jam
Splinterlands (aka Steem Monsters) is hosting a second public 'Game Jam' on itch.io for developers to make Splinterlands themed mini-games.
The Game Jam runs until 19 May and there is a prize pool of $1100.
7. EpicDice launch EPIC token
EpicDice has now launched the EPIC token and a Daily Dividend system.
8. Further improvements for steemrewarding.com
Developer @holger80 has made several improvements to his automatic voting tool steemrewarding.com.
9. Another business joins the Steem Merchants of Venezuela
Another business has joined the Steem Merchants project run by @danielvehe in Venezuela.
FOC Solutions / Sellos Caracas that offers printing and laser cutting and engraving services will now be accepting payment in STEEM and SBD.
10. @steemcommunity witness shuts down
@paulag and @abh12345 have shut down their joint @steemcommunity witness.

Heya! @theycallmedan said he'll put me on a different show, not the one tomorrow. Seeing this, I wonder if I have my lines crossed or if it's an oversight that I'm listed as appearing on the show tomorrow. Either is fine with me, but let me know for sure!
