Corona Virus - What is the situation in my country || Day-30

in GEMS4 years ago

It's been 1 month already, Kharkiv, Ukraine is completely locked down. We are not allowed to go anywhere except pharmacy, hospitals, banks and grocery stores. Also, we have to carry identification documents with us all the time, just in case.

Playgrounds and sports grounds are prohibited as well as non-essential city services. Without any reason, we are not allowed to go out in fact soon this lockdown period will extend because the infected rate is highly increasing.

On March 12, the first corona case has been identified and later on 13th March when the first death happened, government decided to lockdown Ukraine. So, from 15th March till now we are locked down.

At the initial stage, we used to live self-quarantine life but as days passed by the situation was getting worst day by day. The situation in Kyiv is much more worst than Kharkiv, the number of infected cases is high there.

In Kyiv, grocery stores and pharmacies are limited to one customer per 10 square meters and they may require patrons to wear masks. Grocery stores are currently well-supplied, but you should expect lines and delays.source

So, I think you are getting a little bit idea of the current situation of Ukraine.

If I have to compare it with other countries in the world, it's not worst but it can be worst at any time. We don't know still what will be the total rate of death and the number of infected cases.

I am going to share some more details with you...

This is the chart of the current situation of Ukraine, where you can see how the curve of active cases is going upwards and crossed the 3k line. So, there is nothing we can do actually except to keep ourselves safe.

This is one of the residential park which is now empty. No one goes there nowadays, some go there for a morning walk before 7 am but rare.

Well, those who have pets, they can go out, one per person. In this picture, you can see an old man is sitting on the bench, it's neighborhood area and you can sit in front of your building area but not always. You have to be individual or more than 2 people at the same place is not allowed.

This is the current situation of Kharkiv city where everything is locked down and no idea when all will be open again.

For bank purposes, you have to maintain time schedule and have to wait outside for your turn. All public transportation is off except private taxies.

To be honest, days are getting hard especially those whose life is dependent on daily earnings. And for students and foreigners, it's hardest because all money transaction from outside is off. Pretty hard situation here...

  • Nobody is allowed without masks at public places.
  • More than two persons are not allowed outside.
  • Parks, gardens, recreational spaces are strictly prohibited except dog walking.
  • Children under the age of 14 with an adult allowed in public areas.
