Sometimes there is simply no time to buy or create complex decorations. Find out with our advice on how to make festive table decorations yourself with simple materials and without any tools.
Jars for do-it-yourself flowers
The table decorations with summer flowers like dahlias, hydrangeas or poppies immediately bring joy! Instead of creating a large bouquet, spread the flowers individually on the table in rustic pots made by you.
Turn a glass jar into a rustic flower vase
Spread a strip of glue (or hot glue) on the lower edge of the jar and glue the string to the packages. Wrap the whole jar with string, adding the glue gradually. Once at the top cut the string and glue the end.
You can make this jar even with old cans. For example, if you want to cover only half the can with string, remove the label, soak the can and remove the residues of glue with the medical gasoline. Or simply paint the label.
An elegant table decorated with fruit
Serve the fruit in a completely different way: instead of in the form of a fruit salad, make small skewers. Fruit skewers are beautiful to look at and practical to eat. Cut your favorite fruit into small pieces that are not too big and stick them on thin wooden sticks.
Tip: change the size and color of the pieces of fruit - for example, alternate blueberries and then large banana washers. For some types of fruit (for example, watermelon) you can give the characteristic shapes of the biscuits: hearts, stars and the like.
Present the skewers in a spectacular way: empty a watermelon or a pineapple and use them as large natural cups for skewers (or for a fruit bowl).
Maritime atmosphere: shells and stones
During walks or on holidays, collect stones of unusual shapes or shells. These table decorations give a summer atmosphere.
If you want a decoration for the natural table distributed the shells and stones on the tablecloth. If you prefer a touch of color, paint some stones with an acrylic color in shades of blue that evoke the sea. The concave shells are very beautiful, painting only the smooth inner part.
Table decoration: stones instead of placeholders and napkin rings
Placeholders and napkin rings fly away with the wind? Write down the names of the guests on the stones and place them on top of the napkins. For this purpose, the indelible felt-tip pens are perfect because they have a precise stroke and are resistant to water.

Fill with glass sand jars, vases or glasses, insert candles and distribute them (even of different sizes) on the floor or on the table. Alternatively, fill the containers with water and insert floating candles and flowers.
Sparkling light chains
The light chains are very effective if placed in an appropriate manner. At home, for example, you can set up a light chain along the edge of a window or a mirror; in the garden, pull the luminous chain over the table or use it to highlight large plants or the balcony railing. If destined to the outside the light chains must be resistant to water.
