Wood-Burned Art: Jackalope w/ Time-Lapse Video (Club100)
Welcome everyone to another addition of me showcasing some pyrographic art. This happens to be a very special edition! I have been spending the day largely getting ready for my first multi-day, large art show. I had hoped to get this done a couple days earlier, but at long last, we are finally posting time-lapse videos to our YouTube channel! Don't you dare not check it out and I really hope you leave a comment with your impressions, even it it's something critical.
This is actually a piece I made a couple years ago during Covid-19 lockdown shortly after I got my camera for this very purpose. Naturally, Covid really made a mess of things and all of our plans were majorly delayed. It's find of funny to think the video was created that long ago and was simply shelved for all that time.
The artwork itself is a standard pyrography piece. The only color is some white highlighting around the horns and whiskers. A blowtorch was used to darken most of the background, though I can't get too close to the image so I have to do the closest parts by hand. It is easy to see the difference in tooling when you are up close but you can't detect it at all from farther back.
I hope you enjoyed this post and my very first time-lapse video. Again, I would really love comments on the video specifically. We have a bunch more already made that are in the pipeline. I think the plan is going to be to release several of our early ones in the coming days leading up to the art show to get a base catalog and then do one a week thereafter. @jae5086 did all the editing work, having taught himself for this purpose.
Well, two more days and it's showtime! Goodnight everyone, we'll see you here again tomorrow.

Wao, I liked it a lot, thanks for sharing, 🌱
Beautiful.
At first I thought the wood is black, but then I looked at the video, and saw that you actually burned it. Probably was time consuming?
The blowtorch makes short work of it. Filling in closer to the image is time consuming.
That is awesome!! Huge amount of effort!!
Tried doing a small one burning words and gees .. got my fingers burnt.
I used a gas burner burner back then .. yours is electric?
It is electric. The "pens" also have grips on them. I also often use finger sleeves. Layers of protection, and I still manage to burn myself occasionally.
Thanks for the info :)
