A day in the life of a Steemian~Part One
One day can be so different than the next. It makes life worth living to see what is in store for you when a new day dawns. To say I needed to have a good day is an understatement of the extreme. As fate would have it my day was made all the better with Steemians being in it.
During a break in real-world chaos, I jumped into The Alliance 24/7 voice chat. While there the topic turned to music. The Little Mermaid movie and songs became the discussion of the day until someone heard wrong and somehow 'Iron Maiden, Run to the Hills' it was. Jokes were made and dares were given to make a Snook version of the song.
@Inthenow sent me the words and music which I didn't even bother to listen to. I read the words and knew this was not a joke. The words were very powerful. Words not meant to be taken in jest.
Run to the Hills
White man came across the sea
He brought us pain and misery
He killed our tribes, he killed our creed
He took our game for his own need
We fought him hard, we fought him well
Out on the plains, we gave him hell
But many came, too much for Cree
Oh, will we ever be set free?
Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes
Galloping hard on the plains
Chasing the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game
Murder for freedom, a stab in the back
Women and children and cowards attack
Run to the hills
Run for your lives
Run to the hills
Run for your lives
Soldier blue in the barren wastes
Hunting and killing's a game
Raping the women and wasting the men
The only good Injuns are tame
Selling them whiskey and taking their gold
Enslaving the young and destroying the old
Run to the hills
Run for your lives
Run to the hills
Run for your lives
Run to the hills
Run for your lives
Run to the hills
Run for your lives
~Iron Maiden
I had a window of 45 minutes to record my voice. My new cheap mic, to get me through the next six weeks, picks up every sound there is. Taking a deep breath I proceeded to record the words to a song I had never heard before. Once done I spent about an hour trying to get rid of all of the background noise. I will admit I miss my white headset very much!
From there it was off to find free music to put my recorded words to. I downloaded 3 songs I thought might fit and was very lucky on picking the ones I did. I had to do a bit of rearranging of the music to fit the words but in the end, the extra work was worth it.
I wanted to make a movie about the song. Off I went to search for photos to go with the music. It's been so long since I created just for creating sake that I was relaxing and having fun. It felt good, more than good to get my hands dirty again just for the joy of it.
Taking the plunge I opened up my newest editing program and started to learn some of the upgrades they did to Filmora9. This time while messing around in the program I wasn't in a hurry so of course things worked out pretty well. I found some of the changes to the program better and some I'm still thinking about.
Adding a few filters and making sure I liked the placement of the photos with the words to the song, I proceeded to export the newest song after liking where everything was placed. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
If not, blame it all on @inthenow, @enginewitty, @Katrina-Ariel, and @Jackmiller. Really, either way, blame the four of them for the song because if not for them and the conversation we all had I never would have made the song above.
It's great to be a Steemian and have friends that make you laugh and spark your creativity just from goofing around!

I know what you mean about creating for creating sake....
I have been feeling that way for some time and feel I might have lost the reason why I wanted to make videos to begin with
So I took that break, let the thought percolate while I decluttered (major one), and have decided to go back to basics :D
Thank you for for this
It just added to my answers :)
Basics are always a great place to go back to when in doubt......
I think you will find you are now far beyond that though and you will find your way to being you and fun again :D
Nice work on the Video... yeah it's funny how a simple conversation turns a day around. And yes, I can take the heat. ;-)
HAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I'm so happy you liked it :D Made my day!!
Yeah,
I still think you said "Iron Maiden"

For some reason the background music reminds me of a Tori Amos song. The lyrics to this are brutal, but you did an amazing job putting this together. I’m glad it gave you something fun to do and a day of “normalcy,” whatever that is. 😉💞
it did....... well my kind of normal LOLLL
Thank you so much for all you do and so happy you liked it <3

Thank you @robertandrew for your very kind words. I am very happy you enjoyed it!!
I love that Iron Maiden song, and I wondered if you were going to be throwing your head back and impersonating Bruce Dickinson! But this version is much more original! Great interpretation of their song.
