Steemit Update [ September 4th, 2024 ] : Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 20
The removal of all requirements for Season 20 certainly unleashed a creative wave across the community.
There were a record 62 applications for the new season - 26 as Teaching Teams and 36 as individual Challengers.
The quality of applications was generally very high - particularly among the Teaching Teams.
This has made the selection process even more difficult this season.
We usually have six communities or teams to run alongside the Crypto Academy. However as we had so many extremely good applications we have expanded that number as an experiment for this season to 15.
The majority of the 15 chosen are Teaching Teams. These may have more select audiences than the general challenges of previous seasons - but with the larger number, and the wide range of topics, there will definitely be something for everyone.

These will be joined by the Crypto Academy to make 16 in total.
Please would all those selected confirm acceptance in a comment below and include their contact details (Discord / Telegram).
All Teaching Teams and Challengers should post their Week 1 course/challenge post by Sunday, September 8th. Season 20 will then begin on Monday, September 9th, 2024.
Each Teaching Team post should include weekly assignment tasks for students following the course.
Teaching Teams should aim to check and grade the submitted assignment posts within 24 hours.
The emphasis of the comments from the Teaching Teams should very much concentrate on what the student did well in their post, and also most importantly how they could improve their posts - particularly highlighting if they have misunderstood any of the learning points of that week’s course assignment.
The posts should be awarded a grade marked out of 10 according to how well they have completed the assignment tasks.
Posts should be checked for plagiarism and AI use but that should only be a footnote in the comment. Checking for club status etc does not need to be included in the comment.
Challengers should follow similar guidelines in their moderating comments.
The comments will be rewarded by sc01/02 according to how well they have followed these guidelines.

Each week we would like all Teaching Teams and Challengers to make a post announcing the five people who have produced the best responses to the assignments and challenges.
The selection of the five should be based solely on the quality of their post. Number of comments is no longer a factor to be considered.
We have reduced the selected winners to five instead of the seven mentioned in the previous post because of the much greater number of Teaching Teams and Challengers. Likewise the separate selection of comments has been dropped for now.
All the weekly winners, as well as the weekly announcement posts, will receive extra prize votes from @steemcurator01.

We were delighted that there were so many applications for Season 20, and we are very excited about how the Engagement Challenge is evolving.
It has taken a while but we very much hope people will embrace this new format for the Challenge.
The emphasis on the Teaching Teams is deliberate as we believe this could become a USP for Steem.
Being able to take high quality courses in a wide range of subjects for free, with the added possibility of being rewarded for your learning endeavors, must be a unique selling point for the platform.
We know of nowhere else that offers this - so please use your other social media to talk about it and invite people to come and take a free course in cooking, crochet, business, programming, graphic design, fitness, hematology, pattern making, creative writing, spreadsheets…
There is definitely something for everyone.
Try some of the courses with less participants - your chances of rewards from sc01/02 will be much higher.

I guess your skill is covered under creative writing and I also feel that you should have applied for a slot for training people in your niche. I am sure Steemians will see a lot of your work in this category. Remember the art you did in N4B?
I had thought of applying to train people in this category, but I realized that there are few people who want to learn art, but many participants who just post and disappear(No Engagement). You can see this from my art tutorials, where no one comments. That's why I didn't apply. But if artwork is considered creative writing, then I can actively play my role well, and maybe many other art lovers will too. I am thankful to you for your thoughtful suggestions for me.
There are plenty willing to learn more about art they are here and need an open door.

There are many users on Steemit who create art and craft. There are also many expert artists in World of Xpilar Community. However, as far as I've noticed, art is often ignored. Maybe sc01 and sc02 have less interest in painting. Perhaps that's why users only post their paintings or drawings in small contests. And they don't get much attention.
Similarly, there are many senior artists on Steemit, maybe they also agree with the reason I mentioned in this comment, that they also prefer to focus on other topics besides art. @stef1 has mastery in art, if she wants to lead the art category, I'd be happy to assist her. So myself and many other users can learn more about art from her.
I'd definitely like to connect with all of them personally As @solperez has a great understanding of art. @ibesso creates amazing digital art. @Wakepkitty has a talent for creative writing, with no shortage of creative words.
If Steemitblog wants to give some preference to art (painting, drawing) and craft. Then I'm sure the engagement level in this category will also start increasing.

You are free to keep it for Season 21, or release it as an independent contest/challenge in the meantime.
However, you might want to observe how Season 20 unfolds and see what works well, in case you want to adjust your application next time.
Uhm... I don't understand what you mean. Are you talking to me? If that is the case and you look at my accounts I believe that you already know what I do and did.
If it comes to the Teaching Team we will make the best and fun out of it and in between I do what I always do with or without the Steemit Team. It would be a great thing if everyone would do that. It would make everything way more relaxed.

I'm so happy to read this great changes in steemit. Thank you steemit team for this, it will really increase the activities in steemit and more bloggers will be interesting to learn skills for free.
I just feel that some of this courses is worth issuing out a certificate after 6 weeks of training. Or some can run for atleast 3 months then certificate is being issued to the best student. This will make it more interesting for more users to participate and even others who are not in steemit can find it more interesting to join.
Anyway, let me go buy my tools to learn some skills.
