The Steem Sister Show - Episode 63 // Overcoming Fear

in #steemsistershow6 years ago (edited)

Welcome to the 63rd episode of the Steem Sister Show!

Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney. Two sisters bringing fun content to the Steem blockchain!

Topic of this Episode – Overcoming Fear

As promised, we usually have one episode every week that is a bit lighter - and one that involves some deeper conversation. Earlier this week, you guys got our Best of Christmas episode, and so now we are going to chat about Overcoming Fear.

Here are the questions we answered this episode.

  • Where do you think fear comes from?
  • Do you think is harmful of helpful?
  • @aussieninja - What is a fear that you have now that was totally not an issue when you were younger?
  • @maquemali - What is your greatest fear? How you ever overcome it? If not, are you willing to take a chance on getting over it?

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?

We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@coruscate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

How Does It Work?

We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Want to win some Steem??

If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 Steem!

Next Week’s Topic : New Years Resolutions

When we started looking at the calander - we realized that this will be our last epiosde of 2018 - and so it seems only fitting to do one on New Years Resolutions! Do we make them? If so, do we actually stick with them? Do we think they are helpful or hurtful? Tons of possible things to discuss!

So send us your questions! If we choose to answer your question on our New Years Resolutions episode we will send you 2 steem.

That’s a Wrap!

We really hope you guys enjoyed this episode!

With Love,

The Steem Sisters

If you were to go back in time and change one of your past New Years resolutions knowing what you know now for what happend that specific year, what would it be?

Also, what do you think of making a new resolution each for each month of the year instead of for the entire year? Would it be more realistically achieved?

Thirdly have you ever regretted a resolution that you made?

Dear Goldmatters, these are absolutely incredible questions.

Kindest regards,
All of Steem.

Thanks man! Someone has to help you carry the SSS question torch :)

Hi @steemsistershow! It's been a while not saying hi. How's your holiday out there?
Btw, it's Nice!
New resolution is a great topic to be discussed. So, my question is, do you always take in action to cover all of the resolution to be done? Cause most of the time, people just write it down for pleasure as a spirit to welcome the new year. If you did do, how was your strategy to checklist all of the targets? And please write us a 5 resolution that you might be targeted foe the next year. Who knows we will get inspiration from you like you always do.
Thanks Lea n Jane ❤️

Ahhh, you two are so good... I'm glad you'd keep making videos even if only 3 of us were watching... I really do think that is the true secret of really good content... if it's stuff you'd probably make anyway just for the fun of it, it's good.

Great show! I honestly do think that around 15/16 I was pretty fearless... I don't know why, teenagers and their invincibility complex I guess, but I pretty much led a group of daredevils to just stunt around on the daily... now I totally worry I'm going to break something just going for a jog.

My partner has the same heightened sense of fear as you Lea... she immediately thinks up the worst possible scenario in all situations.. i

Mary, the thing about the shootings is so sad, and so real... and when we were telling everyone about moving to the US, it was literally the first thing that everyone said. My Grandma asked me not to go because she was worried I'd get shot.

Anyway, I do love these deeper shows... totally think-making!

Alright, I know I'm a total jerk for even asking, but I kinda feel like it's my duty:

Fitness goals for 2019?

Hi, how are you girls? The first time I went through his blog and it is really totally different to what I have seen in steemit, they are very funny sisters and they also have the great heart to help others through the difactica of choosing questions.

I want to participate so I will ask my question

It almost finished 2018 after the reflection of what you achieved or not, would you start again from scratch something you did not finish this year, for this new year?

Do you prefer to close this year and discard the bad and the good to enjoy it or leave aside the good and fight for the bad if according to your worth?

I am from Venezuela and I will be a new follower, I send you many greetings!

Are you SURE your biggest fear isn’t #wineanxiety? I mean, that’s MY biggest fear. Every time I close my eyes I see a slow motion compilation video of wine splashing right up to the edge of @maryjaney s glass and I wake up in a cold sweat

Wow! I love this episode on new year resolution. Merry Xmas and happy new year in advance @coruscate and @maryjaney. My questions goes thus;

  • What do we need to sacrifice to accomplish this goal( New Year Resolution)?
  • Why do an average man keep making the same resolution every year?
  • Do you think it is very easy to go away from our addicted behavior?

Wishing everyone glorious year ahead.
