Sublime Sunday City Reflections
Sublime Sunday City Reflections
This is a post for Sublime Sunday, created by @c0ff33a here is what he says about it
This is one of the challenges I enjoy joining and often do some creative edits, but for this weeks post, I am going with normal edits of a subject that to me falls into the just takes your fancy category or perhaps also for me a little bit different.
Beware this post includes some looking up shots so do not scroll past the first shot if you suffer from Vertigo
Welcome to SublimeSunday a tag presenting you with the unique opportunity to post something a bit different, wacky, crazy or just whatever takes your fancy and instigated by me @c0ff33a
For this weeks entry, I thought I would share some city reflections a couple with fun and to me sublime edits.
Starting with a street-level reflection where I went with a fun and creative edit for the reflection

This second shot is my favorite of these shots but as it is looking straight up and could cause some to feel vertigo I put this shot second, I love looking around NYC for reflections and really liked how crisp and clear the reflection is.

This is the same building as it the previous shot taken from another angle, when I see reflections like this one a building I think it is like a building within a building.
Sony A7iii 28mm F8 1/125 Sec ISO 100

And another looking up shot only a touch of a reflection, but I love the blues in this shot
Sony A7iii 24mm F7.1 1/125 Sec ISO 200

And finishing off with a similar shot to the first one, back at street level and a bit of a fun edit with this one

Wow! This is my last post that I'm looking at 4 I go to bed and boy it's stuff like this that makes me want to stay up all night and just keep on reading and looking at everybody's posts! You have nailed quality right on the head! That first shot with the reflections is super cool with the color of the buildings versus the black and white reflection. I just love it and it actually expands the entire look and makes it look like I am looking down the street instead of a reflection. Well done!
I do love the straight up shots and I have done that with the Washington Monument which to me it came out really really good but it's your Reflections that really are amazing! I like how you put the lamp in the shop, it gives it a little bit more reality. And the building was in the building is just another one of those oh my God shots! I love the clouds but it show up on that also. And of course the last shop is just fun because you put the color back into it and it looks like a totally different place.
I'm not sure if you used Photoshop or Lightroom or what you used to have it but I would love to crawl into your brain for the other days because whatever you do makes your shots of the building so amazing. Of course, this wouldn't happen unless the photographs were good to begin with but your skills are so enhanced with your Deft handling of the edits.
Always a pleasure to scroll through quality. I hope that you had a most fabulous weekend and that you week will be wonderful. I just got to take this home with me!

Beautiful. The first and last one could be considered social commentary at some level. I really like them.
And the reflections ARE Sublime. Those are truly wonderful, little seen photos of NYC. Thank you.
Thanks I must try and do more street shots and street candid shots, its an area I dont do much of I always feel uncomfortable taking shots of people
What surprised me in those two shots is there weren't that many people focused on their phones which is unusual these days
Thanks for the support and resteem
Yeah, the building within the building is definitely my favorite. Nice job!
Thanks for your feedback I think that one is y favorite of all the reflection shots I have ever taken i the city
These are all good photos, but I really like the way you did the first one with the right side being in black and white. :)
Thanks kindly, the mix of partial B&W just seemed to work so well with that one ;)
have a great week ahead

The first and last photos are messing with my brain 🤣 cool effects. When I see all that glass in the canyons of New York I always think of the poor window cleaners 🤣
This one below is very 60's. Nicely done.
Yeah NYC is amazing for that, I actually went up , Watching people on those window cleaning platforms is unreal what an experience that must be and not one I would want as a daily job for sure
Haha you and me both. I did use to work on a cradle when I was in my twenties. But no way I'd get on one now. 😉
Love that deep blue colour in that photo above.
in our twenties we were a lot more adventurous than we are now ;)
Or less sensible in our twenties 😂
WellI an only speak for myself it I was for sure far from sensible in my twenties LOL
Yep me too, done some pretty dumb things. Like riding a motorcycle. Fell off three times before I wised up lol
Do you know what some emergency doctors call motor cyclists?
Organ donors!
Shocking but true 😊
Wel I both worked as an assistant on Ambulances at some events many years ago and road bikes all be it mainly off road and motocross, and was told that same thing but the paramedics back then as well so I do believe you
I felled off my bike more times than I could count, cracked and broke ribs and other bones, but I kept getting back on,I feel it now as I get older but I would do it all again LOL
These are great Jay!! My favorites are 2 and 3 but they all look fab!!
Thanks for your visit and feedback on which you liked I find it great to hear that from people :)
You're very welcome!! :)
Angles make the difference :-=)
That they sure do :)
That reflection photo is very good! But the first looking up one is quite spooky!
The vibes in the city is so different from those flower photos of dswigle!
