Before the influx of any of my life in Uyo, there is one fact that cannot be disputed, and it is the fact that Uyo, the Capital city of Akwa Ibom stands to be the finest and most serene environment in the whole south-south and Nigeria at large.

During my days of growth in the most amazing city of Uyo , I looked critically into the house rent issues, as I saw some areas that were filled up with exquisite and gigantic houses, and some areas with mushroom houses, the "face me I face you houses " like we nomenclate it to be, it was explained that in uyo, we have the GOVERNMENT RESERVED AREAS and the areas occupied by, let's call them commoners though.

These government reserved areas are the likes of Shelter Afrique, Ewet Housing, Osongoma estate, and Metropolitan estate, and to live in such areas, you would have to be a high-profile government individual or a veteran business tycoon, this is because whether you are renting a house there or building yours, you have to spend a lot and possibly live big.

Looking at the other areas, I called the face me I face you or the average human beings in Uyo, the house rent is not that high, it’s minimal, Say

Cost Of living

Talking about the cost of living in Uyo, I wouldn't say it is very outrageous, but it's not affordable for an average civil servant or a worker earning less than 50 thousand nairas which are approximately 416 Steems.

Local Market In Uyo

Looking into the past, I can remember in some years ago, that things were not too bad, at least a cup of Garri could be gotten for as low as 30 naira compared to the high cost of living today.

I would not even mention the high price of oil that we produce here, but in comparison, the cost of living is by far better compared to cities like Port Harcourt, Abuja, Lagos, and some other states.

Lifestyle

My life in Uyo has kept me watching a lot of young people like me. I watch their lives and see something good or something bad in them and bring up a general conclusion, the lifestyle of some of the people here in Uyo especially starting from the guys is that they are majorly vision and always have a mind of making it in life.

Same with the ladies, though, we still have a high number of youth in this same city of Uyo who don't really place value on education or have that great mindset syndrome, they prefer to drive bikes, stand in the big vicinity of the plaza as conductors, some become unwanted tax forces, while some are just street troublemakers.

We have a great sense of fashion here especially the ladies always competing with some other girls when it comes to dressing and dress materials.

I hope none of them hit me after reading this post. 😀😂

They don't joke With Sport

Most loved sports, the love for football is energetic in the life of Uyo people, I don't want to mention the rage of people that stands in viewing centers to see Messi or Ronaldo scoring a goal, or group of men, even women arguing and dispatching themselves from a football club for messing up.

The sports are seriously loved here in Uyo, so the government too majorly organizes football events, where cash prices, are given to the team that wins.

I have drastically looked into the entertainment sectors of Uyo, we all know the famous quote that says, "All work without play, makes Jack a dull boy", sincerely speaking we have surplus entertainment spots in Uyo, should we mention Market square, De-choice, Le-Meridien resort, wonderworld park, discovery park, unity park, even the lovely museum at Udo domain lane, this places are very interesting places, people chill off their heads and have fun at its peak.

Uyo on the other hand is not really a busy place, unlike states like Ikeja in Lagos states and the rest because the majority of people here are in their offices.

so the people on the streets are not many, except the market women and the commercial riders.

I have asked myself a question, right from when I was born and the question was why is Uyo not like Lagos state, and discovered the answer from many of my friends in the civil service, and it is an unarguable truth that Uyo is a civil service state, we believe in white-collar jobs, just a few are CEO's, while the rest are working for the government, so no much of self-employed or business tycoons.

With Some projects which I have upstairs which I will soon reveal, I believe many Youths will embrace the blog.

Questions have really arisen, when it comes to the fact if foreign investors can come into the state, the answer is yes, the reasons being that before foreign investors come in, there are sustainable factories or industries, they are coming to collaborate with or invest with the few business owners here.

Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company Limited

Interestingly right, in the city of uyo, we have the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company Limited, digital electric Metering Solutions Manufacturing Services Limited, The Lions Plywood and Timber Factory, Ibom Agricon Rice Processing Mill, Kings Flour Mill, Palm Kernel Processing Limited, The Dakkada Cottage Industries, Ibom Industrial Park/Jetty).

The interesting part is that these industries are the biggest and the first of their kind, so tell me why foreign investors would not want to partner.

But unfortunately, there are still no jobs for youths like me and that is why I create one for myself which is what I am doing right now.

Lastly, we have farmers who take their job seriously and who engage in exporting some farm produce to other states.

Think of a very beautiful, secure, and serene environment where you could afford your basic needs and also feed excellently well. Amazing right?

The city of uyo I must say has to be the most interesting and beautiful city in Akwa Ibom State. I have enjoyed my stay here so far and I hope to explore to more places I'm yet to visit.

The Only Problem?

No Job for everyone unless you have people at the upper hands, Unfortunately, I have none, but I’m grateful to the steemit platform for offering me one free of charge.
