It is Sunday, 1st of September.
Today turned out to be more eventful than I expected. I started the day as usual carrying out my morning duties. It was around mid-morning when I received a call from one of my friends in Colombo, saying that she was in my town with her family. It was a pleasant shock because I hadn't seen them in ages. With excitement, I quickly completed house chores while planning the rest of the day.
Fortunately, my husband was home that morning, so we decided to make the most of our friend's visit by planning a lunch out. My husband suggested going to a cozy restaurant nearby that we had planned to visit before. We decided to go for the buffet option, and after reserving our seats, we got ready to meet our friends at the restaurant.
Our friends arrived at the location in a short while, and we were thrilled to meet each other in person after a long time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for children and family. It was located overlooking the Belihuloya River, and the sound of the river created a unique and peaceful moment for us. We spent a good hour catching up on everything that we missed since our last meet-up in Colombo.
We had a delightful lunch listening to our friends' fascinating stories and watching our kids play joyfully. The time flew by and our hearts and stomachs were full. They were very grateful that we chose such a wonderful place with delicious Western and local cuisine. It was time for us to depart. With a warm heart and feeling content, we returned home. Little Vihan was in a cheerful mood, playing with his friend. I refreshed him and made him take a small nap until I completed the rest of the house chores.
By evening, It was time to make dinner. The house was quiet, I missed little Vihan's voice around me but I felt a deep sense of peace. I had a balanced day filled with unexpected joy. I ended my day checking if our friends reached home safely before going to bed. It was a fulfilling day, filled with the little joys of life.
