What is the way to Write a Quality Post? [ 2] - It's Personal, Up to the Reader

It's a mystery to me.
During the past week there was A Talk about quality posts. If you are interested in what is said you can read the comment section. Here you find my answer plus examples of what quality means to me.
We talked and talked for months if not years about creativity, quality and eye-catching titles, I rarely see it. Creativity died on the day that the hard fork was a fact. Why? Because all the great, creative writers left and rules and templates became the trend.
The word 'quality' - I would never use it for text.
No one would and that's why I can't take the 'opinion' of the average moderator seriously. Different likes decide what quality is.
I am not a perfect writer and I do not have an editor doing the most time-consuming work for me which is reading and editing, highlighting failures, weird sentences, typos or bad grammar. I have to do it myself and try but one text still takes me 8 hours to two days of work. Should I go through all the trouble if so many posts remain unread?
How to limit mistakes?
By being alert, keeping your sentences and text short and to the point and by letting others read you.
English isn't my native language which makes it harder to express myself. Therefore I write offline and read my text at least 4 times if not 14. I make corrections and use dictionaries and if necessary different sources to find the answers.
A good read?
Unfortunately, the average text doesn't make a good read and using a template will not change that.
Tiny, blurred or unrelated pictures which can hardly be seen on a smartphone do not change badly written text into a 'quality post'!
Quality is not about using a template, typing 300+ words and adding 3-8 photos. It depends on the text if pictures are needed. We do not post PowerPoint presentations if we are asked to be creative!
A good article is easily ruined due images. It can make a good running story or poem lose its charm just like the power of the written word. If a minimum of pictures is asked to join a contest the question remains: Where to leave those photos? If underneath the text for sure the moderator will complain.
A Big No: Boring unattractive titles, dull texts, answering 3 questions out of 5 with the same sentence, parts of the text written in capital, pictures not matching the text, not adding a personal note/anecdote.
If whatever you post on Steemit is not eye-catching or attractive, if the content doesn't fit the expectations of the title and the reader will NOT read till the end there's no quality. Not for that reader meaning you failed.
Visual or not?
It is up to the writer to decide if pictures, graphics, line dividers, emojis, videos, Canva presentations or links add something extra to the article.
To me it's not necessary. It hurts my eyes and I easily find it not only chaotic but also distracting. I know that links are rarely used and a short text will be easier read.
I ask you: Are you a good reader?
How many books do you read per year?
Would you read what you just posted? If you say: I do would you be your favourite writer? Are you willing to pay for it?
If not ask yourself: Why don't I like to read this, which parts I dislike and why?
If you can answer these questions you know what to do to make some people looking forward reading you.
Quality? All that counts is that content should be able to attract and keep the attention of the reader! So if you write do it in the same entertaining way as when you speak to a friend!

A quality post... hmmmm, for me personally I think it has a lot to do with authenticity. When a person writes freely, or from the heart you can see that - even feel it at times.
I do agree that the "template" approach to writing somewhat kills a certain level of creativity, because you are starting from inside of a box which already makes you feel like that is where you need to stay.
As an example - one of the main reasons why I don't often enter any of the contests around here is that you are FORCED to add the contest titles onto your personal title... I don't want that on my feed. So, perhaps I may "enter" for the sake of the topic at hand and my interest in it, but probably won't qualify for the reward because I have not adhered to all the rules.
This sort of structured behaviour has its place, but in mu opinion it is limited to very entry level writing and like I mentioned on a comment last week - people should be encouraged to step out of that limited view approach rather than the opposite.
Writing, after all - is an art like any other. :)
I joined contests and I rarely win. It's fine because it seems it's more important to others. Several times I changed the title and I even edited posts/titles, removed/changed hashtags into more logical ones. If the topic interests me or triggers something else it will most likely show in a story or freewrite.
I assume the box is meant to make it easier to organize or making it looking good from at first sight. A bit like: if you look good you are good even if you are rotten inside.
It wouldn't harm if writing skills would be improved and to me this is the first focus next to creativity and art.
Pictures can wait unless the post is meant to focus on the art shown. I would like to see, observe, feel that first before I read a text of 1000 words.
You made me think before as you told you don't join the contests. It made me think that Q&A is not what I can handle. I weave the answers into whatever it is my brain will come up with at that very moment.
I think today I will continue checking my content to make me feel more content with the chaos I wrote.

Totally resonate with that. Mostly, I will just write about it because I like the idea... I am not really interested in winning, which is unlikely anyway because I am a rule breaker haha!
This is precisely what is needed around Steemit in my opinion. It is not about being a master from the moment you walk in the door... or EVER for that matter - it is just about nurturing creative growth so that people don't feel the need to follow any specific kind of format.
Likewise. The rigid structure of that approach puts me off from the get go... like I have been catapulted back into a primary school classroom where I am not allowed to colour outside the lines...to hell with that lol!

Primary school or worse kindergarten yelling at you the sky and water is blue, with which hand to hold the pencil and that if you want to play the game you have to stick to the rules! It's something the creative mind can't. If we play boardgames you (well not you) would be amazed to see how we play it in my family to make something dull a great game. Fights with teacher trying to break the will because of their inability to understand. I'm so greatful this all will be over within 4-5 years, hopefully three and toedeloe never see those bored dull faces again telling me they can't change because it's government policy 🤢
Friday will be monster diary day. Let's see if creativity is still alive and a few monster out of the box will shake the d-game. No brushing teeth for me (unless you are a standup comedian).
A good quality chaos is exceptional you need to be a specialist to create art out of what looks trash to the world. They won't cheer but take the profit if creativity and out of the box created the next (handy) miracle.

I am exhausted inside and out, when talking about the quality posts, what I guess is not to attract the reader but to attract those with power (whales perhaps).
Here (steemit) "Quality means" following the certain rules set by some group (sorry to speak freely). It means that the rule is only to make some basic guidelines, because only a few users can really write things nicely and read others, but the rest are barely able to make a simple note. That is the case I see here. If someone can make it beyond the basic guidelines it will be perfect. But again what is the main goal of making a "quality" posts while making an average post that could get support?, is that possible to withdraw support from those "leverage posts"?, the answer is simply not, because the platform is dependent on the community itself.
What can be done??. I suggest to those whales it is important to support good quality with a bigger percentage and support those average with a fair percentage (lower of course), not taking favoritism on someone popular but sticking with it objectively (Quality).
But again, talking about the real meaning of "quality", it actually has no real form. Let's say you guys like what Dan Brown writes the most, but I prefer Mark Twin instead. So it will need curators with specific abilities (such as painting, photography, art, fiction, documentary, and so on and so on) to judge the best in the field, but this is the problem (I don't even know to implement it in reality)
When I immersed myself in writing Poetry and Haiku (Japanese Short Poetry) on FB long ago, and I met some professors (real professors in some universities) the word "Quality" refers to the real meaning and how many people would like to read yours. But again, here on this platform is far different, most of the posts are for big shots' attention only, that is the "only purpose". Previously it is not a matter because some big wigs will seek something they like most and support it at will.
On the specific blog, you need to fight by making the best of the best to get attention.
Sorry to say, but I am optimistic that the day will come when those who really love to be all out or try their best will get paid off.
