Christmas Tree

This week we have an important even as it falls on the Christmas holidays. I do not know how it is for you, for me Christmas is always associated with Christmas tee. My first memories from my childhood and about this tall, smelling pine tree. When I was little the tree was enormous and it was like a proper tree from forest. That time we used to have a real tree, so I loved to touch with fingers the needles and also to smell the needles. That is why even now many years later, when I see Christmas trees it is automatically the smell of the needles I can smell maybe it is more in my mind because it happens even if the tree is artificial.

I remember that my parents told me that once it is night from 24 to 25 of December then Santa will come over during the night hours and will bring the presents. In the morning the first thing that we did after waking up was to run into living room and to look if there are any presents. Of course, there were some presents and that were my parents and not Santa. We did not have many presents but one that we really wished. I was always surprised how Santa was able to read my mind and I was always very happy for that. I believe my parents were happy to see us children happy.

Since we are grown up, we learnt that we parents were preparing our presents. Despite of that Christmas tree still has something magic and I always think that if I make a wish in front of the tree that definitely will come true.

Despite of being grown up I love to decorate Christmas tree but I do not mind to have artificial tree and not necessary the real one. The reason is that when I was a child and our Christmas tree after 2 weeks became dry and the needles all fallen off. I was very sad about that because I wanted to have the tree for longer, it became a part of my family.

Since then I set up my artificial tree and after two weeks, I take the decoration off and the tree with be packed into the box very carefully till the next year.

Hahaha!

We all believed Santa comes from the chimney. At least, that is what we see in the movies. We never had chimneys at my end but some times Santa always had a way to sneak in.

Our parents did well to preserve the tradition. This made our childhood even more beautiful, mine actually.

...and then about trees...
There is an euphoria that comes from seeing a big massive tree. Let alone, a real Christmas tree cut directly from nature's habitat.

I could keep daydreaming about Santa, the elfs and the chimney. But it is time to get back to reality.

What a beautiful and nostalgic reflection on the magic of Christmas and the Christmas tree. Your story really captures the essence of childhood memories, from the smell of pine needles to the excitement of waking up to presents on Christmas morning. It's fascinating how the Christmas tree symbolizes not only the holiday, but also family moments and traditions.
