How A Dog Sees The WorldsteemCreated with Sketch.

We all know dogs aren't blind. But are they color blind? Do they only see certain colors? Or maybe just black and white? Read more to find out.

What does a dog see

A dog sees color, yes, but unfortunately for them, not all the colors that humans do. In other words they only see specific color. Where we see red, blue, yellow, orange and green, your dog sees blue, yellow and brown. Must be quite boring seeing the world in that perspective, right?

Why do dogs see different though?

Their vision sounds more like roses are yellow and violets are blue...

We all have cones and rods, which are vision receptor cells. Humans have more cones and a dog has more rods, that's why we see differently. A dog sees 6 times less detail than you do, this is only because they have no fovea (area with 100% cones). Unfortunately for dogs, they can't wear glasses!

Do dogs see well at night?

They see a ton more than humans do, 5 times better to be specific. Why you ask? They have various adaptions for low-light vision. Basically a bigger pupil lets more light enter.

My walls are painted red - Dogs probably hate my place lol. Baby poop colors for them haha.

I agree! Can't be pleasing seeing that color ...
