What is Oyster?

Oyster protocol for web hosts to make money (profit) from users visiting their sites without the need of paid advertisements. Traditionally, web hosts that are not selling services had to rely on paid advertisements as the only way to profit or cover costs. Imagine add-free internet. Oyster also uses a tiny amount of hashing power form the individual’s computer to contribute allowing transactions on the PRL network. This in turn creates a stream of income to the webhost.

Why do we care about reducing adds?

Web adds are intrusive, annoying, and they cause a significant drain on your mobile device and network.

Recent Accomplishments:

PRL has just successfully launched their Testnet B. Their testnet has demonstrated this is not only possible but feasible. Imagine an internet without advertisements. Also, PRL just had a token burn reducing the number of tokens.

Exchanges:

  1. KuCoin
  2. Cryptopia
  3. Coinexchange
  4. EtherDelta
  5. IDEX

What do you do with the PRL token?

A user that spends Oyster PRLs to upload a file, storing the data on the IOTA Tangle. That’s right folks, Oyster uses the IOTA Tangle.

Reward:

The User’s file is securely, reliably, and anonymously stored.

Why the IOTA Tangle?

The Tangle is a peer-to-peer ledger system with a twist. (It doesn’t use a blockchain). It is highly complicated, but is perfect for Oyster protocol.

What is Shell (SHL)?

To put it simply, while Oyster (PRL) allows file storage, Shell (SHL) enables transmission of data with a very important key feature:
• SHL allows the transmission of data while bypassing centralized infrastructure owned by ISPs and Governments. (That is right folks! Decentralized Internet even when governments actively control)

Airdrop info:

The upcoming Shell (SHL) token is an airdrop at a 1:1 ratio for folks holding PRL tokens to take place April 6. The exact time when snapshot occurs is still unknown. “My Ether Wallet” is capable of storing any ERC20 (PRL is one such token), and can be used during the airdrop. Also, KuCoin exchange is reportedly supporting the upcoming Airdrop.

Warnings:

This article is not financial advice. Buying any cryptocurrency assets have risks. Also, participating in aridrops have risks as investors will likely shift their crypto assets to PRL token in the week(s) leading to the airdrop and move their value out of PRL following the airdrop. You should perform your own research of the risks associated with airdrops before investing.

Thinking of adding some to my stash. Add free internet sounds great. Hate those annoying banners and automatic videos that follow you around. Adblock only goes so far

Just be careful about the pump and dump scenario.

Advertisements are always annoying, specially which pop up during some important work on net. It is a good move to cut advertisements.

SHL allows the transmission of data while bypassing centralized infrastructure owned by ISPs and Governments.
This is really cool!

The worst ones are the ones that hook you into clicking a link with some shocking info. Then you have to thumb through 30 pages of advertisements to get to the end. Ridiculous.

Don't expect anything right away. This would be long term transition if it is adopted.

Hmmmm nice info, i already join many ico's... I wanna ask you sir that according to your experience would these ico's can give us profit in future or not... Like this one in your post... And thanks for such a nice posting. Waiting your nex one

@raza333, a traditional ICO would sell you a coin through a coin offering. This one is not an ICO. This is different. It is like a fork in which everyone that has the coins will get the new token if you are holding the first token in certain wallets.

I don't like to give advice. I think that owning these tokens may have potential for the near-long term, but there is risk of the protocol not being accepted/adopted. Supposedly, the tokens will be pegged in the distant future which makes them a poor choice for long term investment. In the next few weeks, expect the PRL token to fluctuate due to the airdrop.

🤔 i fully understand... Bundle of thanks boss...

Thank you for this article Oyster protocol and SHL has a good potentials.
