Current mood
The last two days were very busy, so i din't have time to write. So today i will try to catch up, but i am not sure about the topic. My mind is between the crypto market and heavyweight title fight this Saturday. Probably it is time for coin toss.
Coin toss is very good tool to decide if you are not sure between two things. Because when the coin is flipping you already know the answer for yourself. It is the one you are hoping to be. So i will start with boxing.
This week there will be very interesting event in Cardiff. Main Event is Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker. It is very interesting fight between two young undefeated champions. But let start from the undercard.
First interesting fight on the undercard is Josh Kelly vs Carlos Molina. Josh Kelly is one of the hottest UK prospects and very gifted, flashy boxer. He is young, with good amateur background (bronze medalist from 2015 European Games and former olympic team member). His pro record is 5-0 with 4 KO.
He have decent power and very flashy defensive game based on his reflexes which is flashy but agains week opponents. This time his opponent will be very experienced tough pro: Carlos Molina. Molina is veteran of the sport, right now on losing streak, but he will be quality opposition. It is the chance of Kelly to shine. If he beat Molina with ease, he will become recognisable star. My prediction is Kelly by KO. I believe he will try everything that he can, to keep the hype train going.
It is a good bet too, but i am not sure about betting this week.
Next fight is Anthony Crolla vs Edson Ramirez. It is a fight that will return Crolla on wining streak but i am not interested in it. I believe that it will be an easy win for Crolla.
Next fight is Ryan Burnett vs Yonfrez Parejo. It is for the WBA bantamweight title. It is must watch fight because Burnett is very good fighter. He is 94-4 as an amateur and Youth Olympic Games champion. Yonfrez Parejo is a solid fighter and this is his second try to capture world title. I am sure that Burnett will win and it will be very good spectacle. For a bantamweights :)
Co-main event is Alexander Povetkin vs David Price. It is not interesting for me because Povetkin is past his prime and Price is nothing special. He was prospect but does not have neither chin, neither some special qualities. Povetkin is too small for the current heavyweight devision and not explosive enough. His cardio is a problem and his power is not the same after PEDs scandal. I believe it will be execution before the sixth round. Povetkin will KO Price easily, but this proves nothing for him. The problem with this fight for me is that there is a chance to become boring hugfest. I hope that it will be a good one, but i am not hyped.
The main event is the one i am hyped for Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker. Both of them in their prime, both of them world champions and both of them undefeated. I am sure that Joshua doesn't need introduction. He is Olympic champion with 20 fights 20 KOs. Right now he is on his way to become the boxing biggest star. He will try to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis. If he succeed on this quest there is a chance that he will become the first billionaire from boxing. But this is too far in the future. Right now his problem is Joseph Parker.
Parker is strong, gifted boxer with good angles and speed. I believe that in this part of the game he is better than Joshua. But will it be enough. Parker is huge outsider, but i think he will be competitive. Comparing both of them Parker got speed and movement, Joshua size, power, technique and better defence. I like Parker style but i will be for Joshua, because i want mega between him and Wilder. And it will happen only if Joshua win this fight.
Fun fact: For me Parker looks like a huge Elon Musk :D
