SUPERLEARNING 3000 - PART TWO - BREATHE TO RELAX TO LEARN
Have you ever paid attention to how your are breathing and feel? Before we start with this next part, take your pointer finger and your middle finger and find your pulse over your carotid artery, on your neck to the side of your windpipe. When you feel your pulse, look at your watch and count the number of beats in 10 seconds. Multiply this number by 6 to get your heart rate per minute. About 60 beats per minute is nice and relaxed. When you do relaxed deep breathing through the nose, the oxygen gets warmed as it passes through the hairs. This warm oxygen going into the brain switches on your relaxed response system, tuning on your relaxed creative mind, your geniuses and your special talents. You get the same relaxed feeling when your drink a warm cup of tea or slip into a warm bath.
Now, breathe-in to the count of seven, hold your breath for one count (note: if you have high blood pressure, do not hold your breath for one count) to allow your blood the opportunity to gather used oxygen with waste in it and and take up new fresh oxygen. Breathe this air out of your mouth to the count of ten, to release all this old oxygen full of waste, which need to be expelled out of your body. For the first few times of breathing out to the count of ten, cough at the end to make sure all old oxygen is out of your lungs. You may continue to cough for the next hour to release more waste. Bend over at the waist to help speed this process.
Now you can breath your relaxed breath of seven in and seven out through your nose. Breathing deeply can help you to be more compassionate to yourself as you live and learn. I call this conscious breathing which can assist you to get to your long term memory, unlock your brain resources and simultaneously equalizes your mental thought that keeps you focused. ENJOY your wonderful breath. Coming next is Part Three - 9 Empowering Thought of a Winner. Emily Diane Gunter
