WORKING WITH GOD IN THE WAY OF GOD
The example of Jesus in John 5: 17-19

In this small devotional reflection I intend to show the biblical model of working with God, directed by God and according to the Will and Plans of God. For this I will use the Example of Our Lord.
Some think that we must do something, that we can not be still, but working in the affairs of the kingdom or in any other thing that generates us fruits and benefits to solve our problems. Then we carry out plans and projects and hope that God blesses and supports us in such. I think that this can only be valid to the extent that we have learned to work the way the Lord Jesus Christ showed us. Aposto Paul affirms in Acts 17:25: "God is not honored by the hands of men, as if he needed something; for he is the one who gives everyone life and breath and all things. "
It is not what we can do for God, it is really what he wants to do through us. It is your Plans, Purposes and Paths that give you the Glory, not ours. God made us his children so that we can do his will in his Work. What God produces has an Eternal Character. Jesus told his disciples, "You did not choose me, but I chose you, that you should go and bear fruit and your fruit remain."

The Bible says in John 1:12 "But to all who received him (Jesus Christ), to those who believe in his name (Jesus Christ), he gave them the right to become children of God." Power, means Power, Authority and Privileges that imply rights as well as duties as Sons of God.
God made us his children (by grace) to do his will and that is why he gave us his Holy Spirit to be guided in the affairs of his Kingdom, to be guided to all truth and to know what God has for us: In Rom. 8:14: "For all who are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God." In John 16: 13 But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth; for he will not speak on his own account, but he will speak whatever he hears, and he will tell you the things that are to come. "
We are called to Work with God, in Communion with God to be directed by God in his goodwill and according to God's plans. The Work is from God! We are only Collaborators of God, building of God, farm of God.
It is good to remember that the Bible says that we are saved not by works but by grace, but a grace that leads us to do the works that God (in his omniscience) has prepared for us, through Jesus Christ. Eph 2: 8-10: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not for works, so that no one can boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to walk in them.
Remember that God has a plan and we are called to work with God according to that plan, not ours, and only as we grow in an intimate relationship of love with God, investing time to pray, adore, have communion with God , studying, meditating and obeying the word of God, is that we can know the plans and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. "God is the one who produces in you both the will and the doing for his good will."
Let us then be obedient to what God shows us. This was always the example of Jesus in John 5: 17-19. Let's study it in prayer. God bless you.
