Day 18

8 days ago was Day 0 of the experiment when I took a snapshot of the top 20 coins on coinmarketcap at the time.

I bought 10$ worth of coins for each one on the snapshot and also the 08 coins:

– XRB
– VTC,
– XBY
– ByteBall
– ZRX
– Aeon
– HST
– DOGE

I added 10$ worth of two ICOs:

• GameFlip – FLP
• Sether – SETH

As these ICOs, like others, have a minimum contribution of 0.1 ETH, I calculated the equivalent of 10$ worth of each based on ICOs price I paid. I will assume that the tokens will hold their value (10$) till they hit exchanges. (Happening soon for FLP as ICO hot the hard cap, and should be around the end of Feb, March for SETH).

I ended up using 09 exchanges in total:

1. Binance
2. Bitstamp
3. Coinbase
4. Bitfinex
5. Bittrex
6. HitBTC
7. Bitgrail
8. Cryptopia
9. Kucoin

Hopefully, 28 weeks from now, buying these coins will require a lesser number of exchanges.

For some coins I have an exact 10 USD, those are the ones I owned before starting the experiment so I set aside 10USD worth of each based on the prices of Day 0.

Day 18

At day 18, I took a snapshot at 05:18 am (GMT +1), The portfolio is at 451 $ making a gain of +148 $ since the start of the experiment which translate to a rise of the general portfolio worth of 48.9% .

This was expected taking in consideration that the market is a bloodbath recently, IT was red all over the place on coinmarketcap. There was the coinmarketcap.com excluding Korean exchange dip of -10% Then there was the FUD about the Koreans exchange ban dip and to add on that several exchanges were upgrading their systems (Kraken) and stopping new sign-ups (Binance, Bittrex). All resulted in the current reddy red Market.

This morning there was an official announcement in Korea that no ban will happen and that investors are responsible for their investment, and we may see some green action because of it.
