Dragonchain DRGN

I am a big fan of ETH and during this recent correction I have tasked myself with trying to find the next big platform and I think Dragonchain is a very good candidate. Read and comment below if you agree/disagree with me.

Background

Dragonchain is a business focused blockchain platform which aspires to be the most flexible, secure, and business ready platform and ecosystem. It was first started in 2015 by Disney’s Seattle office as a private blockchain and about 1 year later, it was released as open source software. In order to maintain control of the open source software, the Dragonchain Foundation was created in January 2017.

Summary

Dragonchain has many key features as to why I think it will succeed:

1. The programing languages for smart contracts are common (Java, Python, Node, C#) and will cost less for development- Platforms like ETH require developers to learn their own language (Solidity) and this take time and effort. Since DRGN uses common languages, it opens the door for many more developers to built on it.
2. Serverless decentralized platform- DRGN is launched on Amazon AWS and in the future it will be ported to Google App Engine and Apache OpenWhisk for internal datacenter deployment.
3. ICOs can be built on this platform- Once they release their platform from March-June 2018, according to their roadmap, ICOs will be able to be built on their platform and utilize their Incubator. Unless you are an accredited investor in the USA, regulations don’t allow you to participate in any ICO but because they are an American company, they are more likely to comply with US ICO regulations/laws. This point is speculation, but since they are an American company and comply with those regulations it could allow US citizens to participate in ICOs built on Dragonchain’s platform.
4. Dragonchain’s Incubator- Their Incubator allows for a standard process for new businesses for developing on the DRGN platform. This will allow business to spend less time and money developing on the blockchain and put that time and effort into their project. Also, DRGN will give access to legal, technical, marketing, and support experts for any advice and help.

Joe Roets is the Founder and CEO. He has worked for Disney, Coinbase, and Overstock and has over 20 years in software architecture.
Eileen Quenin is the Foundation President and VP for Strategic Partnerships. She was one of the core developers of DRGN and was highly influential in gaining approval to get the project to be open sourced. She has worked for Amazon, GE, and LexisNexis.

Road Map

DRGN has a lot of upcoming events throughout 2018 but the biggest are coming from March - June. During this time they will be releasing their serverless platform (March) and their Incubator Program in June. Many crypto currencies do not have working products or their road maps are for many years. This is where DRGN has an advantage, getting a working product out that works and is easy to use.

Conclusion

I first heard about DRGN in January 2018 when their price sky rocked up to $5/DRGN. Even though I was a new investor I knew not to buy at all time highs and luckily I was rewarded with this recent pull back which has allowed me to obtain DRGN and many other projects at a great price. At the time of this post DRGN is about $1.40 and being so far off of the all time high I believe this is a great opportunity to buy. I think it has the ability to compete with ADA, XLM, NEO, and many other platforms to take market space away from ETH.
