STEEM: We Are Getting Closer: D.Tube Ready For Prime Time!!!!
As most of you who read my blog are aware, I feel that the steem blockchain is going to be one of the best performing of 2018. We have a number of apps that are, at present, riddled with bugs and have a few things to be worked out. That said, the development teams are strong, dedicated, and making progress. My personal feeling is two apps will stand out in the explosion of this blockchain: D.Tube and Zappl
My belief is that these two apps offer the using public what they are accustomed to. There are hundreds of millions of people using both YouTube and Twitter. These people, to convert over, need a couple things. The first is incentive which the steem blockchain offers. I am not sure anyone would turn down the idea of monetizing their posting on these two sites. Secondly, is ease of use. There is nothing worse than learning a new interface. Most people are like me, they cannot be bothered. Hence, a simple transition needs to occur.
To me, these apps fulfill both criteria. When looking at them compared to YouTube and Twitter, I see how similar they are. That is a bonus. There is no reason to recreate the wheel. Both entities have developed models that are hugely successful. Their apps are easy to use and fulfill all their needs. To me, both the steem apps are like that too.
For the last 5 days or so, I posted a video a day on D.Tube. Being one of the apps I am most excited about, I was itching for it to be working. Please bear in mind, I am not one who posts on YouTube, hence I come at this strictly from a blockchain/success standpoint. There is absolutely no reason to post on YouTube if DTube is working in the same manner. We all know that few people are making any type of money off YouTube at all. I recall reading a post by @jerrybanfield who stated that even with all his traffic, he got about $20 a month. Even the newest poster will net that on D.Tube doing a video a day.
So what did I find out about D.Tube? It works flawlessly for what I was doing. Let me lay out the details.
I shot videos on my cell phone. The videos were roughly 600MB-700MB in length. I did not edit them at all nor did I compress then. I simply cup/paste the video on my destop and uploaded it using Chrome.
Every video was uploaded and tagged without a hitch with the exception of one. One day I had issues although I am not going to blame that on D.Tube. I have a feeling my computer CPU was shot since I had a lot open. Since that time, Day 2 I think, when uploading, I shut the memory hog programs down. As I said, no issues.
It appears that the update the D.Tube team did last week is working. I suggest everyone post a few videos on there to see if you get the same results.
To me, this is enormous. I hope everyone who is on YouTube starts to promote D.Tube. There is no reason for anyone to post anything on YouTube anymore outside those people who have followings of hundreds. Even those people should start the conversion over and start promoting the idea in all their videos.
I wrote an article the other day mentioning how people do not know about steem and that is a good thing. The apps on experienced some challenges which is not uncommon in the software realm. That is why updates are done. It is imperative that the apps get their act together before the masses start to arrive.
Here is that article if you missed it:
I am here to tell you that it appears D.Tube got things straightened out. It is ready for prime time and for the masses to enter. Now it is up to us to tell the world about it. I harp on each you to mention D.Tube in videos and comments. There is no reason to keep this a secret any longer.
D.Tube is a censorship-free video posting application that enables a content creator to get paid for each upvote he or she receives. This is the message we need to spread far and wide.
For those who used some of the more advanced features of D.Tube, please post them in the comments believe. I would love to hear your experiences.
This is another step forward in what is going to be a glorious 2018 for STEEM.
If you found this article to be helpful and informative, please give it an upvote and re-steem.

I have played with tube and I can see it going bigger as the speed increases. Will give zappl try next : )
Zappl is a bit further behind although it seems their development has more time to dedicate to the project.
The most exciting feature about Zappl is they are adding in a direct messenging feature. This will be huge.
At present, I dont like the zap once every 5 minutes and the fact that all zaps appear on steemit in the blog section (the later isnt Zap's fault but a setting the steemit team needs to change).
Overall, Zap is looking better and getting closer too.
This looks like something I have to check out too. I am not sure if I can have such a good bandwidth phone. But have to see :)
Hay its really very good post about drive and it's opertunity and it's utility and you said well, there is no reason to not to talk about dtube. We have to untapped it's potential and tell other about steem plateform and dtube to meet the target of 2018 . Hay you are really doing great.
We are all closer to the goal. Steem began to grow, the platform was being upgraded, new programs came in. It's all easier to make a real boom.
I have run into trouble in the past. Since I have apple everything, I first have to convert it to mp4. The thing I don't like too much is that I can't find anything on DTube and that the links do not pop up in a post but just stay there as links. But I am going to try again - has been my intention....
There is still a bit of work to be done with D.Tube...no question about it. The development team is small so we must be a bit patient. The new updates really worked wonders the last week or so.
Before it was a problem to get videos to upload which obviously is a problem for a video hosting site if videos wont upload. It seems that problem is solved and the editing tools look good.
There is an editing tool now? I didn't know that. going to try to do an upload today.
I had trouble with getting Dtube work at first. My last visit was great. So improvements have been made over the past month or so. I can't see any reason for using youtube any longer. Upvoted, following and resteemed for exposure.
The last update a little over a week ago was a huge one. Eliminated a host of problems while adding some more tools.
Thanks for the upvote and resteem. Gave you a follow too.
Thank you.
Decentralized YouTube?
I loooovvve the sounds of that!
I posted my first dtube video today. I had a host of problems actually. You must upload in MP4 format. I had to use Firefox and not Chrome to upload because Chrome I kept getting error on uploading the snap. Its been 6 hours and I have had 1 upvote and no comments. It is my first and I'm not giving up.
One good news regarding this is that Vid.me is shutting down because the team behind it couldn't attract enough users/profits. One less competitor for DTube.
