Tim Ferriss- entrepreneur and sales and writing

You need to have the capacity to sell whether it's Kickstarter whether it's New York Times whether it's your local daily papers you just need to have the capacity to communicate efficiently and so which is the reason when entrepreneur's inquire from me for books to read aside business books I say “On Writing Well” , “Bird by bird”, all books on writing improve communication.

David Ogilvy on advertising, study print ads where you have very small space I believe those are for the most part affected. The best entrepreneurs I have ever encountered are all good communicators. It's the one possibly one of the very rare uniting reasons they're excellent communicators. Practicing is just the way to improve better at communicating and practicing speaking does not give you mostly with something to evaluate later which is the reason written word is so strong.

Writing is idea crystallized on a piece of paper that can then be reviewed it's very hard to do that with speech which is the reason I recommend people focus on improving their skills in writing and take time to learn good direct response. Take time to for example, perhaps develop a swipe file so one of the things that I did for years is whenever I bought something I would recognize the ad the phone call the print ad the offer whatever it was that influence me choose to buy it and I would either cut it out or record it into Evernote whatever it might be and save it.

So I had a file of all the things that I bought and reasons I bought it and then I may possibly go back and review it and I'd be like oh looks like I fell for this this and this, not a bad way it looks like this tipped me from or not interested to - yeah all spent five fifty five hundred five thousand dollars on that I save all that.

Everything that works in sales has already been done; you don’t need to reinvent the wheel so just keep record of the crap that you buy or the great stuff that you bought and select what was the caused or what pushed me over the edge and then just sell to individuals like you. That's what I do it's really simple, individuals are like who's your market I might well you know I'm a 30-something SF based tech savvy male so why don't I just sell those individuals it's a lot stress-free than trying to guess.
