As the Nation celebrated the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, a small leap towards bonhomie between India and Pakistan has taken place by the agreement to open Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for Sikh Pilgrims. It is noteworthy that Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji spent 18 years of his life at Kartapur before he took his last breath on 22 September, 1539. As the second image reveals, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib of Kartarpur is visible from the Indian Border. Making a Corridor from Dera Baba Nanak to Kartarpur Sahib will facilitate Sikh Pilgrims to travel to the holy Gurudwara. This Corridor is just of 4 Kilometers, 2 Kilometers on either side, but it is rightly said that a great journey starts with one step. Vitally, this is perhaps the most befitting "Birthday Gift" to Guru Nanak Dev ji because he has advocated Hindu-Muslim unity during his lifetime.
