Let's Absolve The Button Mashers of Their Wicked Ways!!
When I was younger, I loved playing fighting games with my brothers. Games like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Nightstalkers. The only issues we ever had was they would often lead to actual fights. Whether it would be from being cheap as I would say, which would happen most in Mortal Kombat. That was when my brother would continuously jump backwards and whenever I got close to hit him, he would kick me. Not exactly cheating but being cheap. The other thing that would cause the real fists to fly would be when my brother or I would button mash. I’m sure we all have been there. Played against someone that never played the game you spent hours honing your combo list and they whoop your ass because they are mashing random buttons. Those days look to be coming to an end thanks to a game I’ve been following for about a year now. Enter Absolver!
This is a fighting game that adds strategy to the mix by having you set up premade combo lists to be used in combat. The stance of you character comes into play with 4 different stances to choose from. Dependent on you stance you have a set of other moves you can choose to follow up with. Throwing dodges, parries and weapons into the mix and you got a fighting game worth some attention.

Story
Absolver puts the player behind the mask of a Prospect, who has taken a sacred vow and chosen to join the Absolvers, an elite corps of combatant fighting to maintain stability in the world.
Monitored by the Guides, the new ruler of the fallen Adal Empire, players will wonder these forsaken lands and encounter other Prospects online in order to learn their place in this world and eventually become Absolvers.
Along the way, they will learn new combat styles and attacks, and acquire better weapons, powers and armor. Battles between warriors are intense real-time flow of attacks, dodges, feints and counters, with all aspects of the gameplay customizable, including combat styles, weapons and even individual attack sequences in the player’s Combat Deck.
With the implementation of a Combat Deck, I believe it will force players to think about how the approach a fight, as well as grow their fighting style. All the while preventing noobs from button mashing to lazily move their way through the game. Not to say that if I played with my brothers, we wouldn’t find some reason to fight for real. That’s just how brothers are, at least how we are. It will be interesting to see more in depth, how the fighting system works. I think I'll end up using the Stagger Style inspired by Drunken Boxing. How the stances are affected by the type of weapon you use. What kind of customizing you can do to your character, masks and attire. Will we be able to hold tournaments? Can this game reach the level, the likes of Marvel VS Capcom or Street Fighter?
