Steemit Tube?

in #general8 years ago

Ok so to make this clear off the bat...I literally just stumbled upon the world of Steemit and already I am excited to see what the future holds for this growing community. The success so far leads one to only dream about achieving as much in our own endeavours.
Thinking about how we all share and post our thoughts, projects, blogs, articles, and the like it got me to wonder about another way to enhance this product and grow it's success. At the same time on my computer I have a video playing on YouTube dealing with cooking and grilling. A growing passion of mine. While watching though I began to wonder if there can become a "Steemit Tube" where individuals can post their videos just as on YouTube, but have the ability to truly capitalize on their own work and efforts. I am sure many can agree it is becoming more annoying as time passes since YouTube started throwing advertisements on every video it seems. But, can the power of Steemit change the way we post videos on the internet and allow the author/director/star of that video to gain the possible profits from it?
I see these YouTube stars who post and have millions of views each week and they gain from the advertising and such the YouTube puts along with their videos. But we all know that YouTube and Google are the real winners at the end of the day. Why can't we create a video tube under the blockchain idea that is Steemit and break free from the YouTube model and start gaining freedom and profits when we post and have even a few hundred likes?
I'd love to discuss this with the steemit community and see how and if this can be done!
