Bees Removing Rubber Bands!

in #ghsc6 years ago

Hey everyone, these incredible little guys never cease to amaze me. Do grab a sneaky peak here, this video is just under a minute long and will be well worth your while if you, like myself are a nature freak.

We attached the feral combs to the new frames in their new hives with rubber bands. Bees are not very fond of foreign objects in their hives in this case rubber bands.

The larger the swarm the faster they act but generally a few days after we have installed the bees in their new home they re-attach the combs to the frames, chew off the rubber bands and extract. They are the most incredible team workers. Rubber bands are very heavy relative to a bee for them however working as a team they easily extract these.

Incredible right? Be sure to stay tuned for more of my epic bee-keeping adventures!

Cheer$;)

Wow! Not just the most important pollinators in the world but the best team players as well.

Well that was cool to see! I always wondered what happened to those rubber bands...well now I know! Thanks
