RE: Study Shows 63% of Women in Rural India Work until Childbirth 🤰

in Threespeak5 years ago

It is a problem when they have no choice and having to work may make the birth more risky. The death rates for mothers and babies in many countries are still much higher than they could be. It seems in some places women are mainly valued for their ability to have children, but they still have a lower social status than men. Of course they can contribute much more if they are given a chance. I speak as the father of a mature daughter. Luckily she has a good chance of reaching her potential in the UK and can make her own decisions on if/when she has children. She will get good support when the time comes. Others in India and elsewhere have it much tougher.
