SLC S21W5/ Video Games

The first console game I ever had at 13 years old was the one my cousins left behind after grandma's burial, the name of the device was SEGA, and we normally inserted a cartridge, the one for mortal combat, and CONTRA THE HARD CORP whenever we felt like playing them, I am shocked that I still remember them, as for football and sonic the hedge they were inbuilt and entertaining, some moment of playing most of this games were hard, because my cousin will press some few buttons and finish me with magic from LIU KANG in mortal combat.

Throughout that end-of-the-year period after my cousin left for Lagos, our minds (my siblings and I) were always on how we would play the console when there was electricity. Video games are not like virtual reality, where only you can see; here you are expected to show your dribbling skill if it is football. So today was me and God'sgift again.

The game we played was a car race, and it is played by positioning the pad up rightly facing the TV screen, in some cases the pad could be set to accept tilting, but in this case, ours was different because we had to use the button, the car race is simple after pressing start you can use the joystick to control the car move, while holding the pad in an upright position, on front of the pad where it faces the screen there is a button that is on the bottom left corner that is press to increase the speed of the car while the upper button still in the same corner but above is used for retardation, though the joystick is also used for retardation too. That's all about the games since it is just a forward movement, using the X O [] and ^; that is, the X, circle, square and triangular buttons weren't used in this car race but would have been in footballs.

Weekend is here and don't I think it is time for this amazing kid to have a little fun, the fun aspect can never be left out or be failed to be talked about when it comes to playing games

Advantages

• This kid has never left home to play games like this; not only did I play, but a friend also played with her because it seemed she was too familiar with me; she began some friendly interactions, and after laughing with the friends, then I assume a social connection building is gradually coming up.

• This girl was able to identify the names of cars, know when her car fuel was gone and when she needed to upgrade to a new car seeing that the one I used was faster, she asked me Uncle is your fuel more than me own and I said yes, it thought her a lot, helped her in making right choices in vehicle selection.

• I remember games in which I mistakenly set the language to French, and what happened is that I used previous positioning to identify a place to press start, so this could also help children learn languages in the course of playing.

Disadvantages

Thank God my school wasn't close to my house. If not, I would have sneaked out of the classroom to play Mortal Combat on SEGA when I saw there was electricity.

• When so much time is dedicated to playing games it can lead to addiction such that the relationship one has is only with the game, I had cousins who only talked to their phone, they played games so much that they didn't have a bond with even their siblings

• Isolation is another disadvantage; aside from going out once in a while to play games, indoor gaming and too much concentration of a child on a device can make a child lack exposition to real-time life interactions and sometimes may bring boredom.

• Fixing the eye on the screen while playing games for a long time can also cause eye problems.

• Most kids are too curious and may like to have a taste of most things practised in games, and this could lead to practising violence.

This child is not my cousin but a child of my foodstuff customers, the bond we have is so strong even with her mother that she permits her to come with me anywhere, it shows the level of trust she has for me, she is just 6 years of age and the environment has made her so exposed that she can play games on the console.

The car race is a simple game that doesn't require pressing all the buttons like football, so that is why I chose this, I said earlier that we are in the town of Uyo the capital city of Akwa Ibom and children are so exposed to many things, she was able to play but she hasn'attainedin mastery yet, I wished sonic the hedge hock was there in this PS4, so she could play.
