In the past, the radiation technique was not precise to avoid the normal tissue, so we used to irradiate for long time to provide normal tissue to recover well. But, now we can irradiate where we want very precisely, so we can avoid normal organs physically, but it can damage normal tissues if the tumor is abut or invasive to them.
