What is Internet of Things (IoT)?

in #iot3 years ago

Hello,

Let us discuss about an Internet of Things (IoT) as i will share few points about IOT:

What is the Internet of Things?

The Internet of Things, or IoT, refers to the billions of physical devices around the world that are now connected to the internet, all collecting and sharing data.

Thanks to the arrival of super-cheap computer chips and the ubiquity of wireless networks, it's possible to turn anything, from something as small as a pill to something as big as an aeroplane, into a part of the IoT.

Connecting up all these different objects and adding sensors to them adds a level of digital intelligence to devices that would be otherwise dumb, enabling them to communicate real-time data without involving a human being.

The Internet of Things is making the fabric of the world around us more smarter and more responsive, merging the digital and physical universes.

Why Is Internet of Things (IoT) so important?

Over the past few years, IoT has become one of the most important technologies of the 21st century.

Now that we can connect everyday objects—kitchen appliances, cars, thermostats, baby monitors—to the internet via embedded devices, seamless communication is possible between people, processes, and things.

By means of low-cost computing, the cloud, big data, analytics, and mobile technologies, physical things can share and collect data with minimal human intervention.

In this hyperconnected world, digital systems can record, monitor, and adjust each interaction between connected things. The physical world meets the digital world—and they cooperate.

What Technologies Have Made IoT Possible?

While the idea of IoT has been in existence for a long time, a collection of recent advances in a number of different technologies has made it practical.

Access to low-cost, low-power sensor technology: Affordable and reliable sensors are making IoT technology possible for more manufacturers.
Connectivity: A host of network protocols for the internet has made it easy to connect sensors to the cloud and to other “things” for efficient data transfer.
Cloud computing platforms: The increase in the availability of cloud platforms enables both businesses and consumers to access the infrastructure they need to scale up without actually having to manage it all.
Machine learning and analytics: With advances in machine learning and analytics, along with access to varied and vast amounts of data stored in the cloud, businesses can gather insights faster and more easily. The emergence of these allied technologies continues to push the boundaries of IoT and the data produced by IoT also feeds these technologies.
Conversational artificial intelligence (AI): Advances in neural networks have brought natural-language processing (NLP) to IoT devices (such as digital personal assistants Alexa, Cortana, and Siri) and made them appealing, affordable, and viable for home use.
There's a lot of technologies that have futures tied to the success of IoT, such as driverless cars, smart cities and various applications of AI.

According to Norton, 4.7 billion things were connected to the web and this is predicted to jump up to 11.6 billion by 2021. The growth is there, but a number of other factors will have to increase too.

Stronger regulations and stricter security controls will play a large role in our IoT future.

As more devices enter organisations, attackers will have more opportunity to gain access. For IT departments, this could be like trying to stop water leaking through a sieve.

There are also ethical questions to think about. With many of these devices used for extracting data, the more common they become in the workplace and wider society, the more of they will infringe on privacy.

If you are wondering where to begin this journey? Then you should check the iot certification.

But you first check if the institute has goodwill in the market and if this iot certification is accepted globally or not. Check the review before applying.

From my experience i personally recommend to do Iot certification course from GSDC website

As I have one reference for an iot certification course I found one course on google they provide internet of things certification. The certification cost is also affordable here.

The internet of things certification cost is $200. This certification is from GSDC. You can check the syllabus on their official websites.

Cost : $200

Location: Online

The GSDC certification bodies provide iot certification online and it is valid and accepted globally.

Many of the reputed company employees have done this courses from here and give good responses and rated the iot certification courses bodies.

To get this certification you have to pass the iot foundation certification course exam from GSDC Institution.

GSDC's certification is aimed towards sharing a deep understanding of all the advanced iot learning courses.

The purpose of internet of things certification qualification is to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the benefits of this certification.
