RE: Market Friday

Intersting @dswigle.

Did you dive when you were there? Or windsurf?

Bonaire looks pretty busy for such a small island. I didn't realise it was near Venzuela. Does it take long to get to? Do you have to fly or can you go by boat?

Feel free to say "Google is your friend".

We're looking after the grandchildren today so that's my excuse for not looking it up myself. 😂

Have a wonder full day. 💙

It is about 100 miles or 160.9K from Venezuela. You can fly into Flamingo Airport from some North American and European gateways and regional connections from South America. You can go by Yacht, a common way to travel there or some ships do happen by there. There is no ferry service at this point, but, hard as it can be to get there at times, once there, you will never want to leave!

You can actually drive up to any clearing which are marked with numbers on a big rock so you can identify where you are diving (in case of emergency) and literally walk off the beach and dive. That is unusual and the coral reefs are phenomenal. (of course, I say that having never been to the Great Barrier Reef)

But the island is literally made up of coral. It is a huge coral reef and the small population take great care in keeping it healthy. Big kudos for that. I have to admit, it is some of the best diving and the windsurfing isn't bad either! They old and the not so old surf all day long, it is just a paradise for all.

I hope you go someday. You would love it! @gillianpearce

Tip!

Wow. It sounds wonderful @dswigle. Quite a schlep to get there though.

I hope I go someday too before I get too old!

Sadly, we are very constrained by John's lack of holidays so it would have to be once he'd retired. There's simply not enough time to visit all the places I'd like to.

that's a bit of a scary thought! 😢

Unless Steem goes mad and John can retire early. 😁

Thank you for the tip a always. 😍

The pleasure is mine!
