Magnetic suspension is the most advance mechanism used in this scenario.....
!.!.!.!.!.! ! !.!.!.!.!.!.!.In this we used permanent magnet which are fixed in opposite direction.....
This opposite direction of magnets can be used for suspension...
Basically the properties of magnets of opposite direction used as a repulsion...And there is also provide a compensation spring which can be used to absorb sudden shock.....
The reaction of magnetic suspension is too quick....From further suspension system....It's rating time of reaction is 10^-3 sec.....
It's basically used in high speed cars....Some examples given below.....

In there is a arrangement of such a magnet ....i.e Neodymium Magnets....
One magnet will be fixed on inner bore of cylinder and other magnet will be fixed on outer bore of piston....
