List of items to pick up at the maternity ward for mom and baby
For Mom
The maternity bag is very important for the mother. Because it makes maternity, which is already on the right track, a reality. It also makes it possible not to arrive on the day of delivery in tourist mode, so that one is less panic. Usually it is prepared around 7 or 8 months (start or middle of 3rd trimester).
Already moms know what to put in it and that helps (the experience helps). Primiparous" (those of whom it is the first) can be a little lost (and those like me who didn't do it is even worse.
So what you have to think is your dear half going to stay with you after the delivery (yes, it would be nice for him to have some things for a few days too, wouldn't it?). And even if it doesn't stick to you during your stay at the maternity hospital (between 2 and 6 days), you should also think when the delivery can last and be difficult for the dad too. And then if you have chosen a delivery in the water and the dad wants or must (yes yes the future mother decides and the future father obeys! We have to explain to them right from the start).
So here is a list of all the necessary and useful tips for Mom and then a little bit for Dad.
Useful stuff for Mommy
- The first thing you have to think about is a copy of your birth project, just in case the one you gave in the maternity ward escaped from the file.
- For childbirth in itself, plan an old t-shirt or a suit in which you feel comfortable and which no longer fears anything task level if you have chosen to give birth in the morning or in the evening.
- Water think of the swimsuit 2 pieces, to cover the bust.
- A dressing gown or robe (to be comfortable in the bedroom)
- Slippers, socks or flip-flops to walk around the hospital
- Snacks and drinks (if you have the right), especially water, or sweetened drinks (coca for example avoid nausea and vomiting in case of dehydration)
- Essential toiletries: shampoo, shower gel, deodorant (even in winter believe me it is necessary!), toothbrush and toothpaste.
- Pregnancy sanitary towels (yes yes it is more than necessary for the return of the diaper)
- Old panties that are no longer at risk or disposable panties (the famous' net' panties)
- Preferably dark-colored towels and gloves that are not afraid of much either.
- Time to spend: magazine, book, music/film player, mini PC.
- This is enough to relieve the pain of contractions and labor (see pre-work): essential oils, homeopathic remedies, massage oil, etc.
- Your mobile phone obviously to take pictures, phone family and friends to give sex, weight, size of baby obviously.
- And then something to put you on the day of the outing in which you are comfortable and you like it too (yes comfort and pleasure can go together)
- If you have chosen to breastfeed: plan clothes accordingly: nursing nightgown, breastfeeding tunic/t-shirt, breastfeeding pillows, breast cream, etc?
- If you have a treatment to follow: take enough in stock for 7 days (just in case) and a copy of the prescription.
Useful stuff for Daddy
- Some replacement items (one or two t-shirts)
- Deodorant (yes, you'll sweat too!)
- It's enough to snack and drink a little drink (but no alcohol, not for solidarity, and then a little advice if your beloved wife doesn't have the right to eat or drink, refrain from doing it in front of you or from showing up smelling like a sauciflard)
- What to do with your magazine, book.
- Your phone to call happy grandparents and friends
