RE: monuments

in #monument7 years ago

All about the monuments these days. Because that’s all any photograph, piece of writing, video, sculpture, complex simulation or performance can ever be. A static representation of the past tainted by the creators biased eye, creator as both the developer of a medium, platform, or technology, and the user, creator, artist.

It deeply concerns me that until our digital systems reach bandwidth capable of capturing and simulating an accurate digitized representation of every perceivable detail of my existence, at the speed of light, to those choosing to experience and act on their personal understanding of their own senses and interpretations of who I am, there will always be a space for third parties to sell services and biased stylized caricatures aimed at tricking us into believing an individual is accurately represented. Do not underestimate the power of your sub conscious mind in real world situations. I spend all my time searching for these sub conscious cues so computers can learn how to interpret and accurately represent them. Luckily computers are getting better at teaching themselves these days.

I’m tired of symbols, but I will spend my life creating them, because I am tired of symbols. The only way to escape gravity is to fight it. I will create art until I don’t have to anymore, one way or the other.
