DONALD TRUMP - I'M GIVING $1 MIL TO HURRICANE RELIEF

in #news7 years ago

Twelve years ago, Hurricane Katrina hit American mainland with a violent intensity and caused major devastation. We can call it almost co-incidental that the latest disaster brought upon American sub-continent by Hurricane Harvey hit LA at the same time as Katrina did 12 years back.
Texas was hit by the eye of the hurricane suffering the maximum impact of Harvey. Starting from a category one storm, Harvey quickly rose up to become a roaring category four hurricane. This quick rise was because the pathway followed by the hurricane included the region with hot water called Eddy, which provided more power to the storm as the hotter the water, the more energy it transmits to the hurricane. Hurricane Harvey is being said to be the biggest storm in more than a decade and is said to exceed the maximum amount of rainfall.
What are the actions being taken by President Donald Trump at this crucial moment?

With his very first day as the President of United States of America, Donald Trump’s term has been a bit shaky regarding decisions and actions. Although he has won the presidential elections, he isn’t among one of the loved presidents. Many people dislike him for his racist and sexist remarks.
Hurricane Harvey would test President Donald’s Capabilities as a leader of the world’s leading country. The actions and decisions he takes during this disastrous event are set to decide his fate in the next elections. While racists and sexist remarks have reportedly increased around the country under his term, now the sole concern is his actions towards the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
President Donald Trump along with the First Lady Melania Trump visited the flood affected areas of Texas as well as Louisiana to meet the victims of the flood and the volunteers who helped out those victims. Although Donald Trump visited Texas last Tuesday, he couldn’t get a chance to meet the victims. Apart from the government funds allotted for disaster management, President Trump has also pledged to help victims by donating an appreciable amount $1 million from his fund for the victims of the flood affected area.

In a press conference this Thursday, White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced about the president’s willingness to donate money to the victims inspired by donations coming in from various organizations and individuals. He has also requested ideas from the general public to help out the victims in a better way.
Sarah Sanders also said he is seeking out help from the reporters to get an insight about the best disaster management organization so that he can donate his money to the same. To prevent the money from being used for reasons apart from helping the victims, he wants to be assured that the money goes to the best organization and maximum victims benefit out of it.
Earlier Donald Trump had been heavily criticized for donating the very insignificant amount for charity when compared to other multi-billionaires. To mend this rough edge, he seeks to provide the best at his capability to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. As of 2017, the 45th president of The United States of America is worth $3.5 billion.
During his presidential campaigns, Trump assured people that if the presidential funds were not enough to make his promises to the U.S. citizens come true, he would invest his funds and looks like he is keeping his promises. His overall performance during this time of crisis will help him gain the love and admiration of the public in times to come.
This move might help him get credibility over the citizens who dislike him.The average rainfall caused by Hurricane Harvey this year has crossed the set record of 48” and has reached a whopping 51.88” Inches in mere five days of its existence. According to the data collected this Friday, a total of 185,419 houses were destroyed by the hurricane and is expected to rise as the weather clears up.
The death toll in Houston has reached up to 38, and more corpses are expected to be found inside the debris of houses broken in the hurricane. Rescuers with boats have been advised and requested to communicate with local administrations to help more and more people to be rescued. The government and local police are doing its best to provide help to the victims. All that’s left to see is what moves has President Donald Trump kept in store to deal with this disaster.
