2017 sure was interesting and full of crazy new things. I made a very hard but good decision with my family to move to Colorado. How we did it was incredible and us making it last was the most fantastic and beautiful thing. I met many a new people to work hard alongside and grow with. A leap of faith goes a long way and what a great turn out.
I live in mountainous terrain now that has views in every direction at any moment. The eye candy and the peacefulness this wilderness brings is beyond anything material. It’s so refreshing and detoxes you from any negativity when surrounded by it. I have gotten to experience many times now, going up and down the Manitou Incline. What a wonderful journey that was. I enjoyed that many times but some of the more fun times were with the people I went to class with at Gold's Fit. I have stood at the same level elevation that I jumped out of a plane hahaha. That one really blew me away because I remembered how scared I was and now I’m in a place that I can freely climb to that elevation. 😁

I discovered an amazing podcast serious on youtube called Spartan Up podcast. Its tons of interviews with amazing people who have turned horrible situations into beautiful outcomes and journey's. All the people interviewed and all the people who do the interviewing help a mass of people grow and learn. Their is so much inspiration to be draw from it that I always think of these people now when I have a goal I want to hit and on obstacle gets in my way. I'm able to push further knowing that someone went through something more than I am currently am and they still are taking control of there lives and creating beautiful things doing what love to do. I joined this badass gym called Golds Gym. Little did I know the kind of people I would meet there and connect with. Just to name some, Clay, Schanel, kayla, Amanda, Nick, both Sarah's, Cassaundra, Eloy, Jennifer, Thomas Earl, Stetson, Tom, JJ, Rebecca. All you guys and gals inspire me to push my limits just about all the time. You all individually inspire me in many different ways and areas and I think it’s the biggest blessing to have come into contact with you humans. Having had been able to be around y’all through my adjustment here I believe really helped me mentally. Thanks for being awesome! I look forward to more days to come and getting to know you all more as time passes.
To add more, any and everything physical, especially running! My love, my passion, the thing I’ve done since even being in the womb. I was offered an amazing opportunity to coach a new program launching up in Gold’s Gym. Me!? Just a member of the gym who happens to be the next elite Obstacle Course Racer 😏. I was able to finally take what I’ve learned throughout the years of my athleticism and put it use on other people. I get to continue learning and growing and doing what I love and help people along the way. It’s so beautiful that I don’t know if it’ll ever sink in with me that I am doing this in my environment I wanted to be in to begin with. I’m so stoked to see how this thing takes off and see how it grows me as well. “Have a growth mindset, not a closed mindset.”
Growth mindset has been launched for sure! !JR.jpg
I also became certified in CPR/First Aid. The feeling of achieving that was incredible. A slight scary thought of knowing it could happen one day but to know I'm ready to act should it happen is a really great feeling as well. CPR.jpg
You know that Olympic training center? Well I had the awesome opportunity to be a volunteer there a few times now. My most memorable one yet is volunteering for there national championships meet. This meet determined whether they had a shot or not making into the finals where they were to be featured in the magazine that comes out for the Olympic center. I was the score keeper guy for the high bars! 😎 These kids competing during the first part of the day were from 9-11 years old.
I learned so much from watching these kids do there thing. Being able to watch a kids facial expressions go between “I got this” to “oh crap what just happened” and lose all control. I got to watch some kids break down knowing they didn’t nail the sequence. Man just so much learning just from observing and talking to the coaches. I was also in the presence of many, many ex pro athletes and current day pros, which in itself was just so amazing. I was able to see these kids compete and the pros train in the room next to them. To see where a select few kids would end up in the years to come was just oh so inspiring!! I really will now evaluate so many different things about my racing and empowering my mind to be resilient when the going gets tough.

To top off this year I was able to be with my family and watch my dad Mark KidWok Britten do his show and see everyone who came out to the comedy club on New Year’s Eve to be there for the midnight Whoorah. Seeing everyone cheering and yelling and hugging and kissing was a sight to see and I couldn’t’ve been happier than just being there with my family spending time together in our new home.
Every time I went outside I looked across the way and saw Gold’s Gym, the place I now work at doing what I love. I couldn’t help but smile each time haha. NYE.jpg
To finish this post I will end with saying that because my family and I are working together and encouraging each other, we all are doing better and progressing with a vast amount of opportunities coming our way. It’s a great journey when you start to do better, it’s an even greater journey when the people around you are doing better as well. This year has shown me some really special meanings to life that I never recognized before and I am happy I learned them. 2018 has a prosperous future and I look forward to being in the moment of everyday. Let day 1 of 2018 begin the new year journey!WORKOUT.jpg
