Hello Steemians,

Today I'm sharing something with you all which will be useful to all of us. How to hide important data and passwords such as Steemit password or your crypto currencies from the hackers.

In this post I will explain you how to hide our important data in an image, this is not exactly encrypting but a kind of similar thing which will help us to make sure our private and important data are safe.

To hide your important data in an image, you need WinRAR installed on your computer and Microsoft Windows with access to the command prompt. If you do not have WinRAR installed on your computer, you can download this program through many websites which offer it for free of cost. If you find it it difficult, I have given the link to download WinRAR at the end of this post.

Hiding a message, Passwords or other important data:

1.Create a text file with your secret message or hidden data and highlight it, then highlight each of the files you want to secretly add to the image file. As an example, we created one text file called products.txt.

2.Highlight and right-click on the file. Select the Add to products.rar option, where "products.rar" is the name of the file you right-clicked on.

3.Open a Windows command line window.

4.Change to the directory (cd command) that contains the .rar file and the image you use for the hidden text.

5.Type a command similar to the example below.

Untitled.png

In the above command example, "image.jpg" is the name of the image you're using, the .rar file is the name of the file created in step 2 above, and secret.jpg is the name of the new image with the hidden message in it.

Once you have completed the above steps, you should have an image called secret.jpg that contains the hidden message. Below is an example of the secret.jpg we created doing the above steps.

Please make sure you're still able to open and view the image before saving it, posting it on the Internet, or otherwise using it somewhere.

Hurrah! We have hidden our important data. What happens next?

It was easy isn't it hiding the data in an image. How will you view it, Is just double clicking it opens the message then the process we have done so far has no meaning at all.

What should we do know? Don't panic now lets see how to view the secret message we have hidden inside an image.

How to view the Hidden message:

To create the hidden message or hidden files, you must have followed the above steps. If the above steps were performed to create the image, follow the steps below to view the data you have hidden in the image.

1.Save the image to the computer, if you've saved it online.

2.Open WinRAR by clicking Start > Programs > WinRAR > and then WinRAR.

3.In WinRAR, click on File > then Open archive. In the open window make sure to keep your files of type option is all files and not just compressed files.

4.Browse to the location of the secret image where you have saved it and double-click the image to open it.

5.Once the image is opened this way, it should display the file(s) contained within the image that can be extracted from the image.
