Good people are few and far between
People these days are very set in their ways. They refuse to admit to their mistakes, refuse to apologize, and refuse to change. That is what causes a lot of issues in the world. If people would acknowledge their wrongdoing the world, in my opinion, would be a happier place.
One of my pet peeves is people who refuse to apologize when they do something wrong. On the other hand, the people who do recognize their mistakes are among those for whom I have the highest respect. These are the people who will change the world. People will have more respect for them, and they will ultimately work harder towards change because they know how to recognize their failures. Sadly, these people are few and far between. We should all, myself included, work to be more like them.
Now I’m not saying we should all act like Canadians and apologize for every little thing, but we should be able to notice when we’ve hurt or offended someone and apologize for that. We should acknowledge our mistakes, and try to make up for them. That would completely change the way our world works.
Another point that I would like to make is that we shouldn’t make such a big deal out of our trivial problems. The guy who drove past you and got water on your shoes shouldn’t have to stop and beg your forgiveness, and you shouldn’t make a big deal out of it. A lot of people go around throwing complaints and insults around as if they have no affect on anything. But let me tell you – those things can have serious affects on peoples lives. You don’t know what people are going through in their day to day lives, and you should be cautious not to offend them with your words. We should be out there looking to praise people for what they do, not reasons to complain.
Thanks for taking a moment to read this quick post. Think on it, try to see ways in which you can improve yourself. Maybe there’s someone you need to apologize to? Maybe you need to work on complaining less? I don’t know what it is, but everyone has something they need to work on. Find what it is, and get to work on it.
